The problem is inside of the tv. Your speakers are probably fine. The problem in most sets I have found is that the internal parts/Brackets are vibrating particularly at the lower frequencies. You must insert non conducting foam and duct tape to immobilize any moving parts. With the back of the set off, Tap the chassis with your finger and you will hear where the vibrations are coming from. Repeat taping and inserting the foam until the vibrations stop or are minimized to acceptable levels. You can also adjust the custom audio with the equalizer to cut the base frequencies. This is a common problem. In some cases I have found Bad speakers and need to be replaced and is really simple to do with the back panel removed. Once you see the speakers you will how simple it is to replaced the speakers.

I have mission 701 speakers and there is a rattle

nothing can be done to case that is external features are left intact-even if there is a deformity. The only solution used by us is on the inside. access is usually by removing the speaker through screws and padding the inside with speaker insulation.pushed against the interior wall it eliminates any and all rattle.

Subwoofer rattle

Try filling the inside of the enclosure with insulation [roof insulation will work ] or a small pillow just to see if its the box or the driver rattling if its the driver you might have to secure it to the enclosure with screws or something ,

All Speakers suddenly dead

The internal audio amplifier is most likely dead, as it drives all speakers and the headphone output. If this is still under warranty, I would go that route. If not, it may be cheaper to buy a new receiver. Parts and labor can be expensive...you will have to take it to an electronics repair shop for an estimate.

Scratchy Sound, Major Problem

hi, warranty! get warranty service! you may have faulty sound card in pc. whatever the case, i would get service while you have warranty and the fact it is the same with other set of speakers. are you using same output wire to test second set of speakers? and i am guessing this computer is newer model, so all the drivers should be up to date. check connections again, then get warranty service. have a nice day! hope this helps! glen

Do you know if my woofer is blown?

well if you hear a rattle sound its probably already blown...and the amp could be drawing too much power if the radio shuts off...make sure all your wiring is correct. also if your car is off and you turn it up it will most likely shut off cause the battery cant handle it. but as for the sub i think its blown. good luck

Lost instructions

The 'Subwoofer' output on your receiver is used to connect to a powered subwoofer with a built in amplifier. Your KLH speakers use what is called a 'passive' subwoofer, it gets its power from the receiver and then passes the higher frequencies to the left and right front speakers after taking out the low frequencies for the subwoofer. A speaker system with a passive subwoofer is good for casual listening, but a powered subwoofer is required for really hearing low frequencies and rumble in movies. The KLH speakers you have were highly rated in their time for their price. The four satellite speakers and center channel speaker have very good sound compared to the little 'midget' surround sound speakers most people buy today.

Here's how you hook them up:

- The left and right front channels from your receiver terminals should go to the terminals on the subwoofer marked 'From Amplifier'
- Your left and right front speakers are then connected to the subwoofer terminals marked 'To Speakers', they do not connect directly to your receiver.
- Your center speaker is connected to your receiver terminals marked 'Center'
- Your rear speakers are connected to your receiver terminals marked 'Surround'

That should get you up and running. If the bass isn't good enough with the passive subwoofer, you can get a decent powered subwoofer like the Velodyne VX-10 for about $150 and 'kick it up a notch'. Good luck and enjoy....
