1st You download Printer Driver. HP Deskjet Printer Driver After this install the Printer driver in the system.
Installation of Printer Driver

Go to the control panel
Click on the System Icon
Click on the Hardware Tab
Click on the Device Manager then
Select the Unknown Device or printer device where yellow Question Marks sign on it.
Right click on it and uninstall it.
After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
Driver installation Wizard start.
Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
Driver will be install.

Windows 7 does not have HP Desk jet 712C Printer listed in add printer, why is all the other HP Printers listed and not the Desk jet 712c. I have tires to use bob's patch but it will not open and reports...

Have you looked on the HP site? I did and couldn't find it. This means that this particular printer is not supported in Windows 7.

Go on HP web site and look for the driver that will work with windows 7 or get a new printer that says it works with the new windows 7 or downgrade back to an OS you know that works with your printer.
