Got new Palm TX out of box (although it is actually a few years old, but was never opened). charged for 3 hrs, but as soon as I unplug power cord, it goes dead. Battery appears not to work. found another new one exactly the same situation. Will these batteries never work because they were never taken out and charged within a specific amount of time?

Rechargeable batteries should last about 3 years. Always buy fresh batteries and see if you can get them with a higher mAh written in the specs. Buy from a battery company and not from somewhere like Amazon. This one is 1250 mAh.

If the batteries were dead for two years it probably will need new ones. The plates get a coating on them making them useless. This is probably why the charger keeps flashing..

Can you please try to leave laptop switched off
plug in laptop and leave until the light on front goes green or at least 2/3 hrs

then unplug power cord
switch on laptop and use it or leave it until it looses all power and switches off

then recharge until green

when battery is fully charged always un plug and use on battery power
until it reaches about 10% before recharging

some people even remove their battery to preserve it if they always use power cord

if this does not sort the problem please come back to us

It requires a power adapter to charge. The connection for it is next to the sync cable connector.

When the battery is discharged, it is best to charge it overnite.

Have you reset the TX?
Hold the power button down and push in the reset button on the back of the TX with the stylus. Hold the power button down until you get the screen where it ask you if you want to erase/reset the unit. click yes to reset.
Then when it comes back up, re-sync it with the Palm Desktop on your computer.

Hi,

Replace the Battery. This has either a faulty Or Discharging Battery.
Even brand new items can have a faulty battery, or charging system
i,d suggest returning for replacement or refund, if it,s new/warranted.

I have a palm TX as well I just hope its a bad charger and not the TX. Sometimes I my TX dosnt charge from the usb sync cable.

I had this problem in the very beginning and a few times after. What worked is the following.
Put it to charge for at least half an hour. You won't see it is charging or anything.
Then, while connected to the charger, press the reset button.
Have you guys tried it like this already?
