Have a deaf lady who can not hear the sounds or the talking from the tv/dvd ...how do I make the subtitles work
Hi glad to help you follow these instructions they should be easy to follow but if you have any problems give me a shout back ok good and hope you lady friend can enjoy all of her films now just remember to select the right language and you should have no problems.
Thanks for using the site and glad to help let me know how you get on ok
Step 1:
Set up your Sony DVP-C660 CD/DVD player. Make sure your remote control is functioning and you can see the display on the TV screen. Load a DVD.
Step 2:
Press “Display” on your remote control. This opens the menu.
Step 3:
Use the arrow keys to scroll down to the “Subtitle” option and hit “Enter” to select it.
Step 4:
You’ll be given a list of languages available on the DVD. Choose one and press “Enter.”
Step 5:
To turn subtitles off, select “Off” instead of a language.
Hi sorry ill have another look for you so yours is a cyberhome ch-dvd 300 dvd player.
sorry it was listed different at my end ill have another look for you now really sorry my fault
Hi what tv are you using it with and have the subtitles worked before now.
By this i mean some tellys you can select the screen size like wide screen or 14/9 this adjusting the viewing area of the screen im just wondering if the subtitles are their but just off the screen.
On the tv remote check if you have a button that changes the size depending on your telly the subtitles might be just of screen.
Im still looking for sollution for you but all im getting so far is the firmware being the problem but i dont think you will want to update the firmware on the dvd player as its not that easy to do.
Ill keep looking and wait for your reply ok
Hi try this if you enter the dvd setup menu and adjust screen ratio or settings here and select 4:3 if you have normal telly or 16:9 if you have wide screen let me know if this makes a difference or not as having the wrong format can put the subtitles out of view.
But from what ive seen their is a lot of problems with this type of dvd player and they seem to start going wrong after few months or purchase let me know if it makes a difference or not then ill look again for you ok

Thanks for trying... but I have a Ch DVD 300, not the Sony dvp-c660. Your instructions or suggestions did not work. Nor does the operators manual instructions make the subtitles come up... the unit must be broke in that mode.... Thanks....
Sorry the info did not come out on your end.... hmmmm.
Okay, I will wait for your coming information.. Thanks for responding... T.
