I know this is old but I figured I can post an answer for anyone else looking for a solution. I don't have a remote for my Apex tv and wanted to switch it from TV input to Hdmi 1 to use it as a monitor. You have to press INPUT button to get the menu up. Then press CHANNEL+ or CHANNEL- to change to the input that you want. Then press and HOLD the VOLUME+ button to enter it. That worked for my Apex TV.

Sad to say but the only solution to unlock the TV is through the remote control. You have to hold down the "F" button key and then press the "Mute" button key again from the remote to unlock the TV. This is also reminds the users( Apex GT2015 User Manual ).

I would advice you to purchase the Original Remote Control to have an access again to your TV.

go to:
menu>audio>SRS TruSurround XT>off
and it will fix the volume

I don't have the original control remote for Apex Ad-1201 DVD player. I would like to use my Universal Remotes: Radio-shack USA "flag" 4-IN-ONE Remote and / or RCA 312W three component remote. I got the codes from the manuals but my DVD player doesn't work or turn off (only ejecting; open and close) with pause button. Could I get a possible code (s) for these Universal Remotes?

When I bought this at Target on black Friday, I did not realize the remote was missing. I had a spare universal laying around. Went online for codes and found nothing but codes that didn't work. Bought a low-end one at Target (who refused to give me one after the TV's sold out, said all I could get was a refund but I got a GREAT price on it and didn't want to spend another 150 to replace it.) Low-end remote did not work, returned it and bought a 70 dollar remote and that didn't work either. Got fed up and called Apex, who jerked me around twice before finally telling me there is a special number if you buy it at Target. Called them and they said fax the receipt and serial number and they would mail me a new one. Did this TWICE and never got a remote, called and demanded a supervisor and explained the situation, he ask my name and info and within 5 minutes I had a conformation email with a tracking number. The aim sucks, but it's not the TV, it's the signal on the remote being weak. The supervisor told me there is only 1 universal remote they know of that works with the TV since it is so new. I would try 'waking up' the remote-Take the batteries out,press each button once then put the batteries back in.See if that works.

Apex TVs have parental locks that allow you to block certain programs based on their rating. When this feature is no longer needed and you want your TV to display all programming no matter its rating, you must unlock your TV. Unlocking your Apex TV is done completely from your remote control and does not require any tools. The process takes less than 5 minutes. • Press the "Menu" button on the remote control and use the arrow buttons to scroll down to the "Parental Guide" option, then press the "Enter" button. Type in the default parental code "6688" if you have not set your own code. If you have set your own code, type it in. If you set your own code and forgot it, override it by using "6688." Use the arrow keys to switch the parental lock to "OFF." This allows all programs to be viewed no matter the rating. Press the "Exit" button on the remote and start watching all your channels.

I would reccomend the following: Press and hold in the "display" button on the remote for about 5 seconds.
