My samsung syncmaster 914v isnt working when i plug it in and turn it on all it does is flicker every like 10 seconds

Ok, a few basic things to check/try.

1. What colour is the power LED, does it change when the screen flickers?
   
2. Is the power cable firmly seated.
3. Is the monitor cable firmly seated.
4. Try another power lead.
5. Take a look at the plugs on the monitor lead, does it look like there are any bent/broken pins.
6. Again, try another monitor lead.
7. Try connecting the monitor to another pc.
