Temperature LED Our Kenmore 72012 has a very hard to read Termperature LED. The Time is bright enough but the Temperature is almost impossible to see. Is there any way to brighten it?

Get new LED lamps with low wattage and high brightness values. Additionally, the LED bulbs last a long time and use far less electrical energy than standard bulbs.

Keep the refrigerator temperature at or below 40° F (4° C). The freezer temperature should be 0° F (-18° C). Check temperatures periodically. Appliance thermometers are the best way of knowing these temperatures and are generally inexpensive.

Does the display blink no matter what is displayed? If the display always blinks the same info, what might that be(i.e. error code)? If you are able to cycle through settings and the display changes while blinking, the problem is likely in the control circuitry. The controls have a built in delay to protect the system from abrupt changes. You'll notice this delay, and the blinking display, when you first turn these units on and when changing modes.

It's time for a new thermostat

Is the car actually running hot, or is your temperature gauge telling you it is? Even on the hotest day, your engine still has to reach 210F+ before it opens the thermostat, so running hot as soon as you turn the car on, is not possible. Use a termperature gauge to measure the temperature of the coolant in the radiator overflow resevoir, to see if it what it reads.

The only time it will actually get hot almost immediately is when you have a blown head gasket! Are you getting any sign of water on your oil dip stick or and oil scum on your coolant in the resevoir?

Obviously the first thing to check is the coolant level, and top it up to the proper mark. If that's been checked and still doing same thing, get back to us/me.

I have a SyncMaster as well, and it has been fine for 5 years. What you are describing sound like the backlight is getting dimmer, which is either a power supply or control board, neither of which are easy to replace. With good monitors getting below $150, I would have a hard time spending too much money to get an old monitor fixed.

My first suggestion would be to change the thermostat, this is the main control for termperature issues.
