My washer is making a humming noise and will not add water. It would not rinse at the end of the cycle yesterday. Tried to run a " wash the machine" load. It starts humming when the lid locks. It will not add water but will start to spin slowly.

when the washer goes into rinse cycle it only uses cold water so clothes don't rinkle,so most likey you have a problem with your cold water,do this, shut down the water to the washer, remove the water lines from the back of washer and mark them so you know how they came off, stick the hoses into the washer if they reach or a bucket, turn on the cold water to see if water is coming out of hose,if water does come out of hose good then stick the cold water hose back on the washer and run it only on cold,if it doesn't fill then you know you have a problem with the water valve on the washer and it's not the house water valve that's bad,and usually if you have a problem with the washer water valve it will just hum and no water will enter the washer so if you hear a humming sound it will be the water valve.tried looking up the model number you sent but it doesn't come up on the parts lookup
Sounds like the valve isn't working properly.
One way to test is to turn off the water supplies and at the back of the machine switch the hoses.
Turn on the water and see if you get cold and not hot . If so replace the valve assembly
Hiya,
these noices are often caused by a water issue the rince cycle is a cold water intack so i would surgest turning of the cold water at the mains or shut off valve then disconnect your cold intack hose & check for any clogging it could be a build up of lime scale or lint & the simple removal & cleaning of this hose could fix your problem.. alternativly ensure the cold water supply is turned to the on position to allow the water trough to rince
pull problem code from machine. give knob a turn to wake machine-wait 5 seconds-then hold down start and cancel buttons at the same time. Your problem code will come up.
When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it. Good luck!
Check the washer motor. Make sure that the motor is getting correct voltage and is working and spinning when you turn it on. It sounds like the motor is bad. You can remove the back cover to get to the motor to check it out
ckd cold water inlet may be full of sand ..most washers have a cold only rinse and will not advance to rinse unless fills with water..if good water flow to cold water inlet but still won't let water in suspect inlet valve
the humming noise is probably the cold valve operating but no water. check tap not turned off. slowly loosen cold water feed and check if water present
