New computer I had to buy a new PC with Vista and my brother MFC-210C software will not install. Is there anything I can download to make this work? I really don't want to have to buy another fax/printer/copier. This one is only 2 years old and has been working fine. Thanks, Melodie

Try re-installing the software that came with the printer. I am having similar problems and re-installing did the trick.

Unfurtunately you didnt tell us what pc system you run: Is it XP, Win2k or Vista?

The latter one wont be able to connect to your pc.
For the mfc 210c are only drivers for xp and win 2k, 98se avaiable.

You need another (newer) mfc (mfc240 or 235) if you run vista.

Anyway, if you run xp, download the aggrssive usb driver remover from the brother homepage and delete the drivers installed.

After a restart of the pc do have the mfc DISconnect from usb port (which must be one of the pc: NO hub!). Insert install disc and wait until pc software demands the connection to mfc. Connect now to pc usb. Let the software finish the installation. This should work for xp and win 2k/98se.

With great difficulty. The easiest thing to do would be to go to the brother website and download the entire package from there (broadband would be helpful). You need to go to www.brother.com and then select software download. It will then ask which region you are in (Australia, U.S etc). Then your model which is MFC-210 and finally your operating system (Windows Vista, Mac OS 10 etc) if you then go to all downloads you will see the full software package for download. These are between 50 and 200MB in size so you may have to wait a while depending on your internet connection speed. If you don't require all the software and just need the printer driver itself to allow you to print to the machine then you can just download driver only.

There are no drivers for Vista avaiable. Plz search brother homepage of your country for faq.

Gail, download the driver for your pc system from the brother homepage download/support (full installation about 156 mb) and try again.

 

In case it wont do good, post here again and please write your pc system (win/mac), too

 

BTW:

If you run vista it WONT work because the dcp/mfc machines with no. X10 (where X is a no.) are not supported for vista from brother side.

Drivers and manual are available on the the Brother support site! Go to www.brother.com, click on Software download Select your country then model of printer. Then download the driver and manual to your pc. regards, babb
