Check the power supply first for bad caps, then check to see if you do have 12vdc feeding the the inverter circuits, worst case will be the lamps, see example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

I have a ViewSonic VX910 LCD monitor. I turn it on and it comes on for a second then goes black. I did replaced all five capacitors in the power supply board, but it didn't help, still the same problem....

AllI can think of is that a tripler or inverter could be breaking down, causing the unit to go into auto
shutdown mode. Some devise is breaking down, and causing the unit to shut down.
Not an easy problem to troubleshoot unless you've got a schematic and tech skills.
Hope this helps

My screen turned black and began flashing.

Kim, The LCD display requires WHITE light so you can see all the colors on the screen. Most BLACK screen problems will be a power supply problem internal to the monitor. I monitor is still under warranty, have Viewsonic repair it. Here are a few more options that could be available if unit is out of warranty. 1. Trade in for new widescreen display. Please note that the electronics technician at the store will evaluate your monitor and try to repair it for less than $10 in parts! He or she will keep it as a spare unit or sell your monitor for $40 - $60 to a buddy that needs a spare or second monitor. 2. Check to see if Viewsonic has a CASH+old unit swap-out program. They ship you a REFURBISHED same model unit w/ 30day warranty. Yes! They will REFURBISH your old monitor and ship it to another customer. But that's only if a swap program is in effect! 3. Check with a local TV/LCD monitor repair shop, to see if they refurbish LCD monitors with new or rebuilt "switch-mode-power-supply" / "inverter supply" / "cold-cathode-fluoiescent-lamps" . 4. Most costly option. Buy new display AND have your VX910 repaired and kept as spare unit! Before you do any of the above mentioned options visit (FYI) YOUTUBE and search for and view the longer (8-12 minute) video clips of "LCD monitor repair" and "LCD monitor disassembly" to learn what the most common causes of LCD BLACK SCREEN failure are and what parts are used to fix them. Also visit www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm and www.lcdparts.com , www.badcaps.net for more information. If your VX910 falls into the FAILED CCFL backlight catagory get back here to fixya and let us know what option you will persue. If this was helpful to you or someone else, rate this response on fixya. 12fixlouie by for now.

It flashes on and off. Like, two seconds black, then a brief blink, two seconds black, and so on...Is it just broken?

Your description indicates that your monitor is not getting a signal from the CPU. There is nothing wromh with your monitor. Just check your CPU. It could be a problem with the system RAM.

ViewSonic VX910 monitor has a power supply issue.

Your monitor have a bad condensator in the PSU.

The only thing to do is to replace the Power Supply Unit (very expensive, more than a new monitor) or if you have electronic tools, found and replace that condensator.(cheaper way...)

or

Have you connected your monitor with a new power cord ?

Best Regards!

Two problems vx922 Black screen of Death and vx910 no power

You may want to tey another computer or another cable or update your video card drivers. Otherwise look very closely and see if you are able to see a very faint image of your background picture or icons if you have any.

Really im not kidding it might be a backlight issue.

LCD monitor problems.

Hi.

If the monitors use seperate plug in power supply EG 12 to 24volts it could be that at fault.
Or it could be the invertor at fault.
I have had some success repairing invertors if you can use A meter remove invertor Panels & check accross the coils with meter set to ohms all the coils should read identical chances are you will find one set of windings either dead short or open circuit. This will be the faulty coil hopefully as your monitors are all the same make the coils will be the same.
Carefully desolder faulty coil & fit one that reads good from a doner board.
Look for any SMD type fuses & check or replace them & thats it I have done quite a few now using this method.
Give it a go.
