Just purchased 2nd hand Miele novotronic w310. Does machine automatically stop? Cycle ends, anti crease light on and machine just tumbles clothes makes odd noise, then tumbles again. Is the normal?

NORMALLY WHEN A DRYER COMPLETES IT'S DRYING TIME IT WILL GO THROUGH A COOLING DOWN CYCLE,
DRYER WILL START TURNING WITH FAN ON ONLY FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN STOP, AFTER A SHORT PERIOD IT WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN UNTIL UNIT HAS COOLED DOWN, HOPE THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE EXPERIENCING
GOOD LUCK

Hoover Tumble Dryer VHC 391t. Its starts and does a cycle stops to turn the other way and just stops. If you press the start button it just clicks.

The most common problem for this would be the motherboard of the system that's controlling the Hoover Tumble Dryer. You will have to either get it repaired by a professional or get a new dryer.

Dryer will not stop running

Your machine may have a feature called wrinkle guard or wrinkle shield, which basically keeps tumbling the clothes without heat to prevent wrinkles from setting in. Turn that feature off and see if that does the trick.

Push start button the dryer will tumble, but immediately stops

there is a relay that latches on when you push the start button .. that relay is released by the "door open" switch .. i would suspect that the "door open" switch is bad .. thats usually a button that is pushed in when the door is closed ..

ASKO T700

I had the same problem. Turns out the reset button on the back of the dryer needs to be pushed; when you push the reset button you should hear a click. If you do not hear a click the problem was probably not the reset button. The button shuts down the dryer heating elements if they are getting too hot and also keeps the drum from turning unless the start button is held down.

If you push the reset button and the dryer starts to work again, I strongly recommend that you stop the dryer and investigate why the heater elements overheated. In my case there was lint/hair build up on the heater elements themselves. Extensive dryer disassembly is required to properly clean the heating elements but it is worth the prevention of a house fire. While you're at it, clean the rest of the machine and the duct work.

Hope this helps

How to fix Hotpoint CTD00 Tumble Dryer?

http://www.fixya.com/support/t232066-hotpoint_ctd00_trips_power

The link above should solve your problem. I have the same problem and my parents who bought the same tumble dryer also had the same problem. Its water backing up to the fan then its hitting the heating element which is tripping the electric off.

At the back of the Tumble dryer near the bottom you'll see a panel that has about 8 screws that you can taqke off as well as a small panel that cover the pivet for the drum. If you unscrew this you will see the fan and heating element and no doubt a small puddle of water and damp dust that has clung onto the panel. You should dry this with kitchen roll and clean the old dust off then carefully turn the tumble dryer on (at your own risk lol) or you can take the advice of the person who posted the link above and use a hair dryer. This will stop the element getting wet and tripping off.

Also there is a water reservoir to the right of the panel i mentioned. If you prise the clips open and remove the top section you will see the water in the reservoir. If you look inside it on the bottom left hand side there is a little **** that the water drains in from. If you use something like pipe cleaners or a knife and wiggle it about you may have some fluff or hair trapped there that is making the water back up to the fan and causing the tumble dryer to trip off.

Hopefully this willsolve your problem for the time being but the filter in the bottom of the dryer needs to be cleaned thoroughly every week or so to stop this happening again.

Personally i think this is a major design flaw and the tumble dryer should be recalled but Hotpoints aftercare service is awful to say the least so lesson learnt, don't buy a hotpoint tumble dryer!
