PS3 Help!! I have a PS3 and it won't read the disk. Just keeps saying the same thing: Please insert the disk. Please HELP!!

Hello, It's possibly lens calibration problem, sometimes that happens when there's a lot of sudden movements during transportation, sometimes the use of scratched disks tend to trigger the Error correction algorithm of the PS3 reader, putting the reading lens into a lot of stress that heats up the EC chip and games are not read properly, causing the game to fail loading and making unusual sounds.
I recommend not to use scratched disks, try to use only PS3 game disks only to extend your console's life, and take good care of all your disks, keep them clean.
The thing is as technology improves Disks format changes to put more information into a single disk, and precision looking for data is more critical as data sectors are closer to each other, so scratched or dirty media tends to return errors.

Hello i have three portable dvd players and after a while they all done the same thing they all say no disk when disk is inserted. I have try'd different disk but keeps coming up no disk can you help please advise

I had the same problem i had to use the quick format for my system then it worked just fine only thing i don't know is how to restore data lost from the procees

I have been having problems with my ps3 it keeps saying enter the right disk/catridge...why is that pls help?

I have a game cube that does the same thing. I open it while it's turned off and put my finger on the eye and slide it back and forth a few time. It works after a few tries. I think the gears that move the eye are wore out.

I dont have a solution except throw the dam thing in the garbage.PS3 is a big piece of ****. Mine is doing the same thing. Sony should refund our dam money those pice of **** making thives

its a problem with the latest download update. sorry to say but its a job for sony as long as its still under warranty. just phone them up explain the probs your having and they will send you a new (normally reconditioned) unit out. i'm getting my new one tomorrow. upset it broke but sony's replacement service is very good.
