I have transferred pictures from my nikon to my computer before. I plugged the usb cord from camera to computer and nothing is happening

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program, such as Nikon Transfer or Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

I cant turn on my camara to my laptop

Most brands of cameras deliver a CD with the camera, containing software, needed to backup, transfer and work with the pictures shot, on a computer.
Most of the time there is software is for both, Windows and MAC.
Before you connect the camera to any computer, you should install the software. The disk also has the drivers for the old operating systems.
If you lost the CD, or just don't know where it is right now, you can go to the site of your camera brand and try to download the software you need. For that look under support.
If your camera is old, and the brand does not exist anymore, try a freeware picture transfer / editing software pack. Like Gimp or Adobe Photoshop elements.
Just connecting a camera to a computer causes two things. The camera shuts down, and the computer won't recognise the camera. So nothing works.
Some cameras can be charged with an USB cable connected to the computer. Another reason, why the camera shuts down when no software and no driver is installed.

I don't know how to transfer pictures from my camara to my USB and then to computer or how to transfer pictures from my USB to computer (ie. don't know how to transfer to dBay). Thank you!

Sorry, but the answer you seek is much too long for this site. You need to sit down with the instruction book for your camera and then the help section for beginners on the Ebay site.

When I plug cable from camera to USB computer connection, nothing happens!

Not enough information. The transferring of files requires a sequence of functions to happen before the pictures will transfer to the computer. You will need the camera software installed on the computer. The camera sequence for transfer and each camera is different, some just need you to turn the camera on after connecting the USB cable while others require you press the "Playback" button to transfer files. Depending on the camera software installed on a computer they "normally" download to a file folder then the pictures can be opened in the software programing.

How can i uplaod pictures from my samsung camara S85 . it is connected to the computer but the computer shows no sign of anything plugged in into it . is there any setting that i need to put to the camara...

There is really only one sure way to transfer images from a digital camera to your computer and that is with a card reader ($15-20). Plugging the camera directly into the computer is one of the most problematic areas in digital cameras. It is so much easier to go buy a card reader and plug it into the USB port on your computer. Then remove the memory card from your camera and plug it into the card reader. You can now click and drag or use any normal method to transfer your images. I would also advise a free download called Picasa3 supplied by Google. It will keep your images organized and assist you as your transfer images using your new card reader. It does a whole lot of other things your will like also. Best Wishes.

Cannon Reble xti

Hi

Most Canon cameras you just plug it in the computer and away it goes... If that doesn't work set it to playback mode and then plug it into the USB port. If that still doesn't work, open up My Computer on your computer and see if it shows up, if it does right click it and make sure the Auto Play is set to transfer the pictures and is not turned off.

Hope this helps.
