Lens error restart camera

  • 1. Begin by turning the power on and off 4 times. If this does not work, remove the battery with the power still on, wait about 15 seconds and replace the battery. Once you have installed the battery, turn the power on. You can plug the audio/visual cable into the camera preventing the LCD screen from powering up. This will allow for more power to be directed to extending or retracting the lens.
  • 2. Try using compressed air to clean around the lens barrel area, this may dislodge the debris that is preventing the lens from extending or retracting.
  • 3. Gently tap on the bottom of the camera while holding the camera with the lens facing the ground. Try using the palm of your hand or the rubber pad on the USB compartment. You want to dislodge any dirt or debris that is lodged within the camera.
  • 4. With the power OFF, place the camera flat on the table with the lens facing the ceiling. While holding the shutter button down turn on the power, this will cause the lens to auto focus hopefully seating the lens barrel guide pins.
NOTE: The next step is the most forceful procedure, therefore use extreme caution when performing. Remember, if a click is heard during this step then stop and check to see if the lens error has been resolved. Clicking sounds may indicate that the lens barrel guide pins have reset.
  • 5. While turning the power on GENTLY twist, pull or push the barrel while the lens is extending or retracting. You want the barrel to move in or out evenly. The idea behind this step is to overcome the friction that is caused by misalignments or dirt within the barrel.

How to open genie 1/2 hp garage opener for light bulb

Set a step ladder under the power head of the garage door opener so you can reach the power cord and the lens cover safely.
Climb the ladder and pull the power cord from the outlet in the ceiling. Press the two lens tabs in to disengage the lens from the power head. The lens tabs are below the opener rail on the upper corners of the lens. Pull the lens cover straight off of the power head.
Unscrew the light bulb from the light socket. Use a new 60 watt bulb to replace the defective bulb. Do not use a short neck bulb. Screw the new bulb into the light socket just as you would a regular lamp socket.
Slide the lens cover back over the front of the power head. Push the lens cover in until the locking tabs engage the top corners of the lens cover.
Plug the Genie garage door opener power cord back into the ceiling electrical outlet.

1 MSG WHEN POWER IS TURNED ON 2 LENS ERROR -

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

EasyShare Z885 Digital Camera: unable to power up camera. lens remains fully exte...

If the lens makes a partial movement when you attempt to power up, it is probably dirt/sand that has jammed up your lens in the extended position. First use a vacuum to remove dirt between the lens gap. Next, be very careful, but when you power up, as the lens tries to retract apply a little force to help the lens, listen for a click that indicates that the lens barrel guide pins may have reseated in their guide slots. If you hear this click, immediately stop and try the camera

Lens Error - Restart Camera : Lens remains in extended position.

I had the same problem with the same camera. Ended up twisting the lens by hand back and forth while powering the camera on and off till the lens pins finally realined and let it close properly. Took alot of patience and care but has worked since. Usual cause of this problem is powering camera while the lens is blocked from extending, ie in a case, laying on its face etc.
