You can't.

In Auto Pict mode the camera selects the best of the pre-set Scene modes for the photograph which you're about to take. It's basically a variation of fully automatic mode, so the camera selects everything for you.

Auto Pict and Auto are designed to let anyone pick up your camera and take a fully automated snapshot without needing to worry about what settings to use.

To alter the shutter speeds you need to select an appropriate mode such as shutter priority or manual.

It depends on what you want the software to do with the camera. If you simply want to download the pictures then any photo cataloging program such as Picasa will do the job.
If you want to edit your photos, photo editing programs don't care where the photos came from. You can use any photo editing program, such as PhotoShop or the GIMP.

You need to format a new card in the camera.

The E10 works with SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

Sounds like a memory card problem. Try using A 512mb San Disk SD Card. Not a San Disk SDHC card. see if that doesn;t help you out. Good-Luck

Sounds like battery life is gone. If there rechargeable batteries they might not be holding a charge anymore.

If your camera has a power cord that plug into your camera to charge the battery does it do the same thing?

If it doesn't have a power cord, what happens when you plug the camera into your computer?

Instruction manual
Does the SD card have enough room / is it fast enough for video?
(the E30 records Standard def video so it should be OK)
Do you get any error messages at all?
Does it allow you to record video and then fail, or can you not activate recording in the first place?

Hello, Susan -

Fixya.com does not have updated drivers for any computerized equipment.

If you have not already done so, I suggest you contact Pentax directly regarding an updated driver for your Optio RX18.

Pentax is owned by Richoh.

You may be able to find assistance from another Optio RX18 owner through the PentaxForums.com :

You need to format the internal memory with no card in the camera. Then, you need to format the memory card in the camera.

Pentax Optio S5i... | Answered on Aug 24, 2019

First of all, I assume you are using an SD card (Max 2GB) as that appears to be the maximum the camera can use. That being so, all you need to do is either transfer the contents of the internal memory to the SD card, or to your computer, thus freeing the internal memory. Then set the camera up so that it writes straight to the SD card.

i think it means the film hasn't loaded properly. I had this and opened up the back and the film hadn't wound so it wasn't exposed. Anyway i just wound the film around a bit and shut the back and it turned on like normal. hope this helps.

I have old Lenses that I use; you must set your lens to manual, Switch left hand front of body. That should resolve the problem.
