I have Hitachi 50V500A I was watching morning news than I shut it down properly by remote control, after few hours I try to turn it on, nothing , no picture just dark screen, I can hear light noise from the back of the TV going on and off within seconds but that's all, when I push the power TV button on my remote control I see the power lights goes on and they are blinking for about 10 sec then the TV is shutting down automatically but still no picture. I'll be more than thankfull if you can get me any answer. I have a family friend who told me about your support center and I hope you can find me an answer for my problem, thank you and have a nice evening.

Hitachi ultravision 50V500A screen dim

The model indicated is a DLP rear projection and uses a "lamp" for brightness.

If it has not been changed for a while it should be on the right side of the set behind a removable plate. Check your owners manual if you have it.

Life span varies but 2,000 hours is normal.

Let me know if you need any further assistance as I am here to help.

My Hitachi Ultravision also makes the buzzing noise and the flashing red lights. I know it isn't the picture tube because it does this sometimes and then other times, it just powers up and works fine....

From what I'm gathering on a search I found that this is an LCD rear screen projection TV. The issue you may be having is a problem with the lamp or the lamp Ballast. If you are able to remove the lamp and check it, my thought is that it has imploded. You may just need a new lamp.

Hitachi ultravision

If it's a DLP, you can try that first. With the volume turned all the way down, in the rear of the set close to where the lamp is, (with the set on) listen to hear if there is a buzzzing sound, if there is then chances are it is the lamp. The buzzing sound you may hear is the lamp inverter power supply trying to start the lamp of which it can't.
