Problem: TV has no sound and/or has static when watching just the TV, but watching a DVD, sound is perfect. Apparently, there was some sort of recall on this tv which fixed this re-occuring problem, but it seems to be doing it again. The tv is obviously out of warranty now, is this problem minor and worth fixing?
I have a RCA Home Theater TV I bought about four years ago, until recently we had it hooked to a cable box, now that we don't have it hooked to a cable box anymore, the channels won't turn, it is stuck on channel 2, does anyone know how to make it work without a cable box? When the unit is unplugged and replugged, it empties these registers of the corrupt data. fix is to place a 1mfd capacitor to ground on U13101 pin (15). This swamps the closed caption data to the micro and stops the reception of the defective data packet. In the event that later on the resolve the defective data problem the capacitor can be removed. the close caption feature will not work with this cap. installed or have it fixed click here

RCA always has the part number stamped on the board. It will be a six digit number and usually is preceeded by "P/N". I have worked on these units and would guess that many of the boards are the same. Check the part numbers and if they are the same and the physical layout of the board looks the same the boards should be interchangable. I could not determine through research if the parts are the same because the units are older. I did determine that the CRTs are identical which would mean that more than likely the control signal board for them will also work.
first of all here is a link to the manual....http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200802/20080220095448484_HT-Z410-XAA.pdf and yes it can be conected thru your comcast but you wil need to buy probably cheapest at wallmart an RF Modulator (Less than 20 dollars) and from your cable box (vidieo out, or to tv) install the cable to the rf mod unit (ant in) and that converts it from coaxial cable to rca (meaning a cord with yellow ,red, white push on connectors) plug the red and white into aux input on surround system (see #3 on manual view on backside of surround unit)and and you got it.It your tv does not have a yellow vidieo connection (which is where the the yellow plug into tv)in the back then add a coaxial splitter after the comcast box so that the 1 coax line goes to tv and the other coax goes to the rf mod then thru RCA cables to the surround sound.you may need to buy xtra cables but they are cheap. hope i helped........you may try asking family or friends for the above equipment i described.the newer tv's dont need it and many people have this stuff layen around...good look
Only two possible reasons I can think of for this--
ONE: you have looked in the customer menu and there is no item listed as Timer?
TWO: Does THIS SET HAVE THE GUIDE PLUS LOGO ON THE FRONT OF THE SET? IF IT HAS THE GUIDE PLUS--YOU WILL FIND IT IN THE MENU ALSO---
LET me know if it has the guide plus feature and I can tell you how to end the problem--most of these the set will come on at the same odd time and usually with volume up high.
TV has audio outputs, the RCA cable type. If you connect the audio output (red, white) from the TV(look on the back), and connect the RCA cable to Input of home theater system, you should get TV sound from home theater system. You may have to set the audio on the TV for external source. Go to menu, to audio setup, to options. On the Home Theater system, you may have to select the audio source, i.e. audio input 1, etc.
You can adj. from the front panel of the set using the channel and vol. buttons,if the set you have has a ptk 195 chassis, check and make sure you have adj. projection tv in screens of the menu,in not the convergence power supply has failed, replace the reg on the board, part number is 215530
Dir TV projection Techcions, I own RCA Model:P52937 Chassis No.PTK195M26B. After a big flood here in Chicago, my basement got flooded and my projection TV was in water up to 1 foot. Befor I turned it on, I dreid it out perfectly, then, I turned it on, and a couple components from the power supply got burned up to the point where I am not able to read the part numbers that are on it. I was wondering if you have this kind of chassis and model service manual for this projection TV, or conponet part number i location 101 on mother boatd power supply. Thank you in advance, Darius

Sometims several capacitors start going bad giving you the audio problem, but I don't remember the set turning itself off. That could be a secondary problem around the flyback transformer which may have a bad solder connection. I would check that first. Otherwise, I would be tempted to go with HDTV.
You have already diagnosed the tuner as the problem, the first thing to check is the conections at the tuner specially the ground conections, the shell of the tuner is the ground and it conects to the chassis by being solder to it,if all conections check ok look for overheated areas. After that is taken care you still have the possibility of having a bad tuner. If you are familiar with tv service this information will help but if you are not too familiar be safe and call for assistance from a servicer.
How fix the sound.
