If yo can hear the sound coming out of the speakers when the headphones are plugged in to computer sound out socket and no message it sounds like the socket is faulty. Inside the socket there is a switch that should turn disconnect the speakers. The other possible problem is, your sound drivers or an application that detects the socket is corrupted. you could try reinstalling the sound application that came with computer.

I have a set of Concept CDC-IR10 headphones that was gifted to me. I am wondering if they are compatible with my laptop? My operating system is Windows I know the main purpose is for car audio/video.

Most devices now are auto compatible.
##as soon as you plug something in to a usb socket on your device, windows will auto search for that NEW devices driver & if it cant find one It'll tell your computer is a Generic device.
Plug it in & see what happens ... You'll be surprised.
Note though Sometimes If you have speakers plugger into your computer & you plug headphones in. the headphones will take over untill you unplug them again SO it might be worth turning off the speakers. If you dont have speakers..Hey... No problem :)

Plantronic headset has 2 plugs?

The easy way to find out is to plug it in one way while you're wearing the headset, and have the computer make some sound (play a video or something. If it's the correct way, you should hear the sound through the headphones. If not, you won't, so you'll need to plug it in the other way.

When you figure out which is which, make note of it so you'll remember next time.

No sound in speakers, do i need new speakers or is it something i can fix?

Try a pair of headphones. If you can't hear any sound it's not the speakers. If you can hear sound, it still might not be the speakers. As sometimes headphone sockets which cut the speakers off when headphones are plugged in, can go faulty. To test any loudspeaker connect a 1.5 volt battery accross it's terminals for a few seconds. It should POP.

I can here the recipiant - they can hear me and we can both see the videos?? Any ideas?

Can you hear anything. iTunes, other sounds? Have you tried different people. There are 2 things I thought of for this problem. 1, the other person is the same person all the time and they have muted their microphone. 2, you cannot hear anything on your system which could be mute, or a driver problem or a problem that can sometimes occur with the headphone jack port. For #1, have the other person try to record something or go to System Preferences and select sound, and make sure the microphone shows gain when they talk, and make sure the microphone is turned up (see picture for this one.) #2 You can try to unmute in the same system preferences, you can also check to make sure your sound system is working in the same preferences. If it is a headphone jack issue, I would plug in and out head phones into the jack until you can hear something (make sure you can hear through the headphones before this, if the headphones give no sound then don't do this.) Other than those items it would have to be a call apple issue. jp_2010_0.jpg

When i play music and plug in headphones i can hear the song through the speaker on the mp3 and through the headphones. Can anyone tell how to fix that?

If the plug isn't completely in then the sound can come out of both.
Can you specify the brand of mp3 player as that may have something to do with it.
Else it must be a software or hardware issue.

Headphones not working

try adjusting the volume on your computer, the computer controls the headphone volume when they are plugged in. the speakers will also mute when the headphones are plugged in. make sure the phones are plugged in all the way, sometimes they stop short.

I do not have any volume in the headphones i dont know how to turn them on or something please help me on how i can hear stuff like youtube videos or something.

Did they ever work or are you trying them on a new computer? They don't need switching on you just plug the plug into the audio out of your sound card or motherboard, make sure the mute button isn't selected on the inline remote. Play an mp3 on your computer, make sure the volume on your computer is turned up, plug in another known working set of headphones or active speakers make sure you can hear the music, then plug out those speakers and then plug in the headphones. Do they work when you try that?

Plugged in headphones for call, now earpiece doesn't work

Same here. I tried many things but cannot ring it back to headset mode. I continuously see the headphone icon shown in the phone, so it seems that the phone thinks that it is still connected to earphones. Sometimes, it works fine, but mostly it does not. If I connect the phone on bluetooth earphones, it works fine.
Any help will be appreciated.
