Some of my Buttons don't work on my microwave

For some odd reason some of the soft buttons on the front panel of the microwave stopped working. * Worked like a charm yesterday and it's in a location w/ no moisture. * I would have to say there's probably 5 to 7 buttons that stopped functioning at the same time. (random buttons and not all by each other) The most important button START/STOP isn't working -_-. I've had this microwave for about a year and use it pretty often.

** added info **

The open door button is right below the soft button panel. Maybe too much opening and closing cause something to go lose inside the unit.

Thanks for whatever you can provide...

Microwave will turn off after 3 seconds. Large amount of steam seemed to cause the issue.

The touch pod on my microwavw 9je635 wont do anything when i press the boutos for timing fuction

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

Touchpad and Control Panel

If the microwave buttons don't work the touchpad and control panel assembly are probably defective.
Touchpad

If the microwave buttons don't work the touchpad might be at fault. Generally speaking, if the dishwasher display is working and some of the buttons respond correctly but some don't, the problem is with the touchpad.
User Control and Display Board

If the microwave buttons don't work the user control and display board are most likely defective and will need to be replaced. If some of the buttons work and some don't, it is more likely a touch pad problem and the touch pad will need to be replaced.
Main Control Board

If the microwave buttons don't work the main control board is most likely defective and will need to be replaced. If some of the buttons work the touch pad is likely the problem. If none of the buttons work the problem may be in the main control board.1_24_2013_5_54_53_pm.gif1_24_2013_5_55_10_pm.jpg

How do I fix the programmed buttons 1 - 5, they stopped working? We can only use the 6 and above numbers.

You must dismantle the circuit board and check if some grease vapours between touch buttons and the the circuit film. Clean with some wet soft cloth.

Hi there, I've just moved into a new apartment and the Samsung Timesaver microwave seemed to be working fine yesterday, but it has been beeping at odd times for no reason. I turned the power off to stop...

Hi, this is usually a bad touchpad. The way to tell for sure is to kill power to the unit, take the control panel down and unplug the ribbon connector that connects touchpanel to the clock. Put it back together and reapply power. The clock will just sit there blinking and, obviously, the buttons won't work, either. if the beeping stops, then the touch panel is bad. And If it still beeps, then you have a bad clock.

My Kenmore Elite model 66463 has the following buttons that stopped working....1-7, soft, melt, bread defrost, express defrost, frozen entree, frozen vegatables. All other buttons and microwave heating...

Sounds like a bad touch panel. They run silver oxide traces through that panel and they couple a lot of them together. So if a trace common to those pads breaks you lose all the pads connected to that line So Probably need to get price and availability on a new touch panel.
