My Kenmore Elite model 66463 has the following buttons that stopped working....1-7, soft, melt, bread defrost, express defrost, frozen entree, frozen vegatables. All other buttons and microwave heating work fine. Would like to know what the problem is and if it is fixable. Unit is mounted in a cabinet with trim kit and would not like to replace if possible. Error code ERROR 1 presents on Kenmore Elite countertop microwaves with model numbers 56561582011, 16755, 56561584011 or 56561589011. ERROR 1 occurs when the unit has not received enough power to undertake a sensor cooking operation. Sensor cooking is a feature of Kenmore Elite microwaves that adjusts the temperature and cook time of dishes contingent upon information received by sensors in the microwave. In order to perform this function, a microwave must be plugged into a power source for at least five minutes previous to doing so. Thus, ERROR 1 indicates that the unit has not been plugged in for a sufficient length of time.

One is the power setting used for defrosting food not a button that says defrost.

I Believe this model has an options button with codes by numbers which are 1 thru 6 I believe. Either 1 or 2 are sound. So hit the options button and hit the number 1 it should say (sound), Then you will hit 1 again a.k.a. mute, and no more beep beep beep. If 1 is not sound then you may have accidently created a small but deadly emp, so hit stop and you must hit options and then hit 2.

Frequently this is caused by a loose connector to a thermal protection device (a TCO) or some other connector that has a plastic sleeve over it. The connector is loose, which is causing heat, which is melting the plastic. You would have to remove the cover to find the bad device and connector. This is a job for a professional microwave repairman.

Unlock your Kenmore dishwasher control panel by pressing and holding the "Heated Dry" button for four seconds.

Press a series of four buttons in quick succession. Press "Heated Dry," "Normal Wash," "Heated Dry" and "Normal Wash" to instruct your Kenmore dishwasher to run a short diagnostic test

Wait for two minutes while your Kenmore dishwasher runs its diagnostic test.

Press the "Cancel/Drain" button once your dishwasher has completed its diagnostic test. This should reset your dishwasher control panel and stop the "Clean" light from blinking repeatedly.

My kenmore microwave will not work. The light stays on inside, buttons will push, but the start button does nothing. I've tried everything. The last thing I did was express defrost which was fine. Could it be something really simple? I hope so.

f2 error means : -------

1. The oven temp has risen above 665F and the door is not locked or
2. The temp has risen above 965F with the door locked ------------- if this happens you should check: -----------
1. Check oven temp in mode that failure occurred. Replace EOC (Electronic Oven Control) if above limits

I would return the unit and get a different model or brand if possible.

My Kenmore Elite microwave (don't have the model number in front of me) also mysteriously locked its own keypad (we were sitting in an adjacent room, heard a strange beep, and got up to find the LED reading "Locked."). I pressed and held down the Stop/Clear button for ~10 seconds and it returned to normal.
