If its stuck on crushed your selector switch is probably broken. Being as its and electronic switch you cant really fix it yourself. You could replace it but it requires taking the entire door off of the refrigerator and most times even a repairman wont go to all that trouble and would just replace the door. Recommend you call a repair guy to come look at it as theres not much you can do by yourself on it.
It sounds like the water line to the ice maker is partially obstructed (probably semi-frozen) and the unit is making smaller than normal ice cubes. This causes the ice ejector to "shatter" the smaller cubes, producing the appearance of crushed ice.
The easiest thing to try is make sure the water line connection inside the freeezer isn't frozen. A hair dryer can be used to thaw the inlet to the ice maker, but just be careful. Remove some of the product in the compartment so you have enough room to work.
Hello friend, thank you for your post!
I understand that you are receiving crushed ice even when you request cubed ice. It could be an issue within your control panel or solenoid. Since it could be any one of these under lying issues I would recommend having a technician come out to properly diagnose your appliance. Hope this is helpful. -Matt
