You have a solenoid switch which switches the dispenser back and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working or the parts connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to observe to see if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the solenoid

Yes ... solenoid or connections thereto ....Just have to figure out how to open up the front of the unit without tearing anything up. Thanks though.

With your model number I can find a diagram which may help.

GE Monogram refrigerator icemaker problem

This is normal if you have previously used the crushed ice mode. The refrigerator will continue to dispense crushed ice for some time until the reserves are depleted. If this continues for a longer period then shut down the refrigerator and remove the dispenser compartment, clean any remaining ice and reinstall it. Start the power supply and wait 5 hours for the ice to form. Use the cube mode and you will surely obtain ice cubes.

Ice maker only dispenses crushed ice, won't dispense cubed ice anymore.

I have a GE TFX25ppbaaa refrigerator. The ice maker corkscrew motor would run and provide crushed ice only. The corkscrew motor would not run when the switch was moved to the cubed ice ( half moon) setting.

I replaced the large Light/ water/ crushed ice/cubed ice switch , ( product service number GEH WR55X129 ) ( part number GE 162D6372 PO17 )and it fixed the problem. Cost was about $43.00.

MZD2666KES will no longer crush ice. The dispenser light is on however it dispenses cubes only.

Did you pull the icemaker out and then have the problem?
If so, select 'Crush' and Slide the ice maker out and slide back in. You will notice a rod on the end (bottom left of the unit) slides into a little cubicle that moves up and down to provide either crushed or cubed.

My icemaker is not making ice. This has happened 3 times in the past 3 years but this is the longest it has gone without making ice. The other 2 times it lasted 2 days. It has now been 4 daysince the ice...

Check the following:
Is the freezer door closed completely?
Is the ice storage bin installed correctly?
Is there ice in the storage bin?
Has the ice frozen in the storage bin?
Is ice stuck in the delivery chute?
Has the wrong ice been added to the storage bin? Use only
cubes produced by the current ice maker.
Has the ice melted around the auger (metal spiral) in the
ice bucket?
Dump the ice cubes and clean the ice storage
bin.
Is the ice dispenser stalling while dispensing “crushed”
ice?
Change the ice button from “crushed” to “cubed.” If
cubed ice dispenses correctly, depress the button for
“crushed” ice and begin dispensing again.
Has the dispenser arm been held in too long? Ice will stop
dispensing when the arm is held in too long. Wait 3 minutes
for dispenser motor to reset before using again.

Ice dispenser only dispenses crushed ice

Pull out your ice bin. In the back of the bin you will see a rod protruding from one side. That rod goes into an opening in the rear of the freezer. There is a solenoid behind that opening that raises and lowers the arm on the ice bin giving you crushed or cubed ice. Check to see if that solenoid is froze up or if your rod got stuck under it. If all check ok then replace that solenoid.

Ice dispenser only dispenses crushed ice

Check and make sure your switch is okay. Some have a switch that controls whether you want crushed or cubes. If it is defective replace it.
