The satellite speaker with the controls has a light that just flickers while the media center PC is booting up. Then it stays off. The other satellite speaker light works. I checked all the connections and the audio works well. The balance controls are scratchy and only work at certain spots.

The speaker has a partially burned out capacitor. Unless you're really handy and the value is worth it I would replace the component and not the whole board

My Toshiba Satellite A105 was accidentally dropped on the floor. When I turned it on and after choosing "HDD" from the Boot Menu, the screen would display this: PXE-E61: Media Test Failure,...

Sorry but Unfortunately Hard drives (HDD) are very susceptible to physical shocks and can be damaged that way. It may be possible to take it to a repair center to see if they can salvage some of you data but their are no guarantees.

Media Center m7060n PC Desktop: My m7060n Tower turns on, but the key board blinks...

It sounds like you have a board that is not booting at all. Remove everything from the board except the system RAM and CPU and switch it on. If it boots now, shut it down and then replace each individual item one at a time, booting the machine after each item is refitted/connected until you fit something that prevents the machine from booting. Pay special attention to system RAM sticks by removing them/it and refitting it as bad connections in the RAM socket can also cause a boot failure but removing and refitting the sticks usually cures this issue.

I have windows xp media center. I go to control

I would try booting in to safe mode see what happens
  1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
  2. Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER.
  3. When the Boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then press ENTER.
If it works in safe mode you may have a permissions issue or infection of some type.
Run a virus scan.

Remove any devices connected to your computer.

Want to test to see if bose lifestyle 18 works.

Hi sorry but what do you mean that you have lifestyle 18 system? The lifestyle 18 system consist of the media center/DVD player, the bass module, the satellite speakers and the RF remote control (aside from tons of cables)

If you have the media center/DVD only, then you require the power adaptor. you can test if the media center is functioning if the LCD display is working. you can also connect an external powered speaker or an amplifier fro mteh AUX out behind the media center.

Do note that doing so will only give you limited control of the system since you require the whole lot to make everything work properly.

Glad to be of service.

Won't boot. Power light on, No Video Signal message

It's also possible that your operating system has become corrupted. See if there is enough time to boot into safe mode, or choose a boot option to go into the recovery partition.

Have you made any recent hardware or software modifications?
