the speaker has a partially burned out capacitor. Unless you're really handy and the value is worth it I would replace the component and not the whole board

try swapping the speakers around if the problem still persists either the speaker is faulty
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
be sure to wear an anti static earth strap before touching anything inside your computer
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your sound card dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems
hope this helps

You may not be able to get an exact original replacement. Most of these systems were never meant to be repaired, just replaced. You can try searching online; there may be a source already identified. You could also try eBay or some other auction site to see if anybody is selling one of these systems. It may not be worth trying to repair yours, though. Amazon.com is selling the system for under $30. Buying just a replacement speaker may cost that much, plus your time and labor to install it.

If you really want to try repair, a good source of replacement speakers in the US is Parts Express. (I don't know if they ship internationally, I've never had a reason to check.) They may have something available that will fit the cabinet. If they don't, or you're in some other part of the world, check online for speaker vendors in your area.

Good luck with your hunt, and thanks for using Fixya!
