Kenmore 795-75202400 icemaker problem.

We have a Kenmore 795-75202400 fridge/bottom freezer. Recently the icemaker bin (where cubes normally accumulate) just fills with water and freezes into a block in the bin, no ice cubes. All else is normal: fridge and freezer areas are cold. No abnormal noises. Thanks. Dan

Good day,
Either the water valve opens to fill the ice maker cavity, and doesn't shut off soon enough, causing the ice maker to overflow.
Normal file time is approx. 7 seconds.
This is the most common problem.
As well, it is possible the micro switch in the ice-maker that tells the valve to open and close has malfunctioned.
This is all based on the fact that the freezer maintains a normal temperature.
To test the freezer for consistency, place a plastic glass in the freezer half full of water.
Check it in 8 hours. It should be frozen solid. Then place the glass in a plastic bowl, and lay the glass on it's side. Recheck in 24 hours. The ice should remain in the glass.
If not, there is a problem with the refrigeration system.

Slow ice cycle

Are you having any temperature related symptoms, i.e., soft ice cream that appears to have melted slightly and refrozen, soft breads in the freezer, warm or hot outer surfaces anywhere? If cooling is not a problem whatsoever, are any of your ice cubes smaller than normal, or do you have hollow ice cubes; you would be able to crush the cubes in your hand? If either of these pertains to you, you have not enough water coming to the ice maker, due to a faulty water valve not opening completely, or your water source pressure is low. disconnect your water line from the fridge, test pressure of the water line by placing end in a bucket, turning water on. It will be obvious how the pressure is. if pressure is good to really good, you have a bad water valve on the fridge. If pressure is so-so to bad, change source water valve.
If cubes are not small nor hollow, but rather normal full size cubes, just not enough, you probably have an intermittent problem with your icemaker, replace that.

Hello, we have a 5 yr old Kenmore 73502 / 73504 / 73509 Bottom Freezer. Icemaker recently stopped making ice cubes. Instead what happens is: water just seems to pour through or over the cube maker, and...

Behind the main drive gear is a copper plate. Near the end of the cycle that plate rubs against a probe and energises the water valve. The arcing cause that copper plate to stick to the probe for more than the alloted time (7.5secs) and this causes the water to overfill. I have a page with repair photos and a repair manual: HERE

I have a kenmore elite fridg that is not making ice,but i have water at the door. modle # 50509990. THANKS.

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into icemaker ( if there is no cubes in there now ) . If the icemaker dumps the cubes when frozen , replace the water valve . If it doesn't dump , replace the icemaker . Also make sure the coils at the bottom of refrig in front , are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc . Also check the plastic hose inside the freezer , to the icemaker , to make sure it is not frozen . If it is , replace the water valve , due to slow drip leak .

AMANA ARB2257C ice maker makes noise/doesn't eject cubes into bin

Hi: First off make sure the fridge is level. Is It too high in front? Making the rear of the icemaker overflow and jam? Also make sure the freezer section is a zero degrees, not just frozen. Ice cream should be rock hard. I hope this helps you avoid calling service. Thank You, Jeff

The icemaker in the door of our Kenmore Elite Trio frig just stopped working, exactly 13 mos. after we bought it. We did not get an extended warrantee, because we have never had a new appliance fail so...

Is the ice unit turned on? I pushed the off button by mistake and PAID someone to "turn it back on for me" The guy laughed all the way to the bank :( Also he said a good place to start , before I call next time, is have you checked to see if there is a ice cube frozen(caught) in the top.Pull out the ice catcher(bin) and check for the frozen cube of ice. Be sure to turn off the ice maker first or it may drop ice when you least expect it! My fridge is the origional for house (18 yrs) and after I've done this check list, the problem is fixed. Just thought I mention it. Good luck!!!

Ice maker not working properly

Make sure the fill tube going directly into the icemaker is not touching the part that receives the water, if it is touching the water will spray all over and not go into the cavity

Kenmore Elite 795 75542401

I replaced my "entire" ice cube maker (tube, hoses, water pump, ice maker) and it still pooled water at the bottom. I removed the back panel in the freezer and noticed the ciols go through a defrost cycle and water forms in tray under coils. I removed the lower panel on rear of fridge -and found a drain hose near the water solenoid/pump. I blew compressed air into the hose and hopefully unblocked it so it can drain into the pan not the freezer.
