My wife and I recently purchased a foreclosed house that had been vacant for about a year, with a beautiful stainless steel Kenmore Elite Trio, with icemaker and water dispenser. It appears it was only a few years old. We powered it back up, and it works fine, except when the icemaker makes ice, the ice has these small flecks of tin foil-looking substance suspended in the ice. We turned off the icemaker and went to store-bought ice for now. Is this a filter problem, or something wrong with the lines between the filter and the icemaker?
Thanks!

The house was built in 1973 and has seen extensive remodeling over the years... All the stuff that is exposed that I can see is PVC, but there may be iron or copper somewhere in there... We don't have this problem anywhere else in the house, these little flecks of shiny foil-like stuff just show up in the icemaker ice.
Does the house have galvinized iron water pipes?
