No wireless connection for laptop. Linksys router - model #wrt160n v2

you can run a direct line to that router and go to the cisco web site and get the information you need to run that router. its a pdf format and is 2.56 Meg. Try this

SecureEasySetup (Orange/White) The Cisco logo is the Router's SecureEasySetup button. It

lights up and will stay orange when the Router is powered on. The color orange indicates that

the Router is not using the SecureEasySetup feature, while the color white indicates that the

Router is using the SecureEasySetup feature. When the Router enters SecureEasySetup

mode, the Cisco logo will turn white and start flashing. After the Router has generated

the SSID and WPA Personal key, the Cisco logo will stop flashing and stay white.

To clear the SSID and WPA Personal key, press and hold down the Cisco logo for five seconds.

The Cisco logo will flash slowly as the Router resets itself. The Cisco logo will turn orange to

indicate a successful reset.NOTE: SecureEasySetup is a feature that makes

it easy to set up your wireless network. If you have SecureEasySetup devices, run the Router's

Setup Wizard CD-ROM and follow the onscreen instructions to use SecureEasySetup.

Power (Green) The Power LED lights up and will stay on while the Router is powered

on. When the Router goes through its selfdiagnostic mode during every boot-up, this

LED will flash. When the diagnostic is complete, the LED will be solidly lit.

DMZ (Green) The DMZ LED indicates when the DMZ function is being used. This LED will

remain lit as long as DMZ is enabled. WLAN (Green) The WLAN LED lights up when

the wireless feature is enabled. If the LED is flashing, the Router is actively sending or

receiving data over the network. 1, 2, 3, 4 (Green) These numbered LEDs, corresponding with the numbered ports on the Router's back panel, serve two purposes. If the LED is continuously lit, the Router is successfully connected to a device through that port. A flashing LED indicates network activity over that port.

Internet (Green) The Internet LED lights up when there is a connection made through the

Internet port. A flashing LED indicates network activity over the Internet port.

Good luck

Modem and computer are not communicating.

Are all your connections in the appropriate place? Did you press and hold the re-set button on your router for 40 seconds and wait until all the lights are green on your router?

My thomson dti 6300 250gb free view box wont turn on

Emailed Topuptv and got this reply

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for contacting Top Up TV.

Please note that we are currently aware of an issue affecting some Thomson DTi6300 boxes.

If your DTR will not come out of standby and is not responding to your remote control, please try the following procedures.

Step 1: Power cycle
First of all, remove the power to the box and wait 20 seconds before restoring power.
Wait while the box tries to restart and allow 2 -3 minutes for this to complete.
Try this at least twice.
If it doesn't go to the solid green light then proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Front Panel Reset

Note: This procedure will unfortunately cause you to lose all of the recordings that you have stored on the box. You will need to be able access the back of the DTR and the front panel buttons

1. Remove power to the unit by removing the power cable from the back of the DTR.
2. Wait 20 seconds and restore the power cable while holding in the standby/power on button on the front panel of the DTR.
3. Release the standby button immediately you see a light 'blip' on the DTR front display and then immediately press the following front panel arrow buttons in sequence Up>Down>Left>Right
4.The DTR will now show the Orange LED with the Green LED flashing until the format has been completed in about 60 seconds. The DTR will return to ON automatically.
5. If requested, perform a channel scan to complete the operation.

My SBC 2Wire modem (yellow light) in the middle between the green lights goes on and off. Intermittent....

The middle light is the light for internet services. If it is flashing that means its looking for a dsl signal, if its solid orange that means it needs authentication information (IE: username/password entered into it) and if its solid red that means you have no signal at all. What I would recommend is first check all the phones/alarms/satelite dish systems in your house and make sure they all have dsl filters on them before plugging into the wall, since this will cause an intermittent dsl connection. If everything is fine then call your Internet Provider and have them do some line tests for you to see if the service is having problems.
