Its the dlp/dmd chip going and soon will look like the star screen saver on windows 98. it will need replacing. they start with one or two dead pixels then it spreads. ref only->https://www.replaceyourlamp.co.uk/projector-lamps/nec/np-u250x/dmd-chip-1076-6439b/dlp-dmd-chip-1024x768-pixels-model-b.html
Connecting the nec to your tv, I think you mean you would like to get the TV's picture out from the NEC instead of the TV.
You need to connect your digital cable box or dvd player or vcr system, where the picture goes to the tv, to the projector instead to get it to display the tv picture.
Can't guarantee that it would work without knowing more about your equipment.
If that is not what you wanted to do then I do not know.
the lamp is near the end of it's life or it's not getting sufficient voltage. check the lamp for bulges, black spots, fogging or flaking, and replace if necessary. otherwise, you have a ballast issue that will need to be repaired/replaced by nec. they won't sell individual parts.
if you have a cable or sattelite box, or a tv with a video output, connect the video output from the box or tv to the video input on the projector. if you have a tv without a video out, you cannot watch tv and change the channels on the projector.
it is best to bypass the projector and have all audio going through an amplifier and speakers separate from the projector, and also, only have video going to the projector
