Altec Lansing VS4121 speakers

Hooked up to my new HP desktop. Worked okay for a few days, but now sound like an echo and reverberation. Very hard to understand anything being said. Is there somewhere on the sytem where I can adjust this or is it something to do with the connection or the speakers themselves.

Try going to the volume control panel, and clicking "mute" on the Mic Volume. this should fix the echoing

Is is possible to install altec lansing speakers

It is possible to hook up these speakers to a laptop according to this brochure:

http://www.alteclansing.com/images/spec/vs4121%20sell%20sheet.pdf

Now this manual shows those speakers being hooked up to a computer but laptops have the same outputs as well so here it is:

http://www.alteclansing.co.uk/images/quick/vs4121qcc.pdf

you'll need adobe reader to read the manuals.

Static but no music from the satelite trebble speaker

Try to reconnect all the wires, the problem seems to be with connection. Instead of spending lot of money on speakers, you can buy just the wires, they are pretty cheap. Hope this helps.

Altec Lansing VS 4121

It is unlikely that this is a problem with your speakers more likely that it is a problem with the DVD player itself. I would recomend trying another DVD player.

Altec Lansing VS4121, New Speakers, No Sound

If the speakers are brand new it makes me wonder how you know they worked fine in the States? I am also wondering how they were transported due to them probably being intolerant to extremes of temperature/humidity and probably vibration.

I am also wondering if you are using the correct supply voltage and type of supply.
If you are using the power adaptor supplied for use in the USA, it would probably be incompatible with your supply even though you are using a transformer.

If you are certain the speakers are in good order I suggest you obtain a power adaptor designed for your 220 volt 50Hz supply. I have browsed a little and cannot find a note of the power requirements for the integrated amplifier but this is presumably marked on the adaptor, the speaker or in the manual and so the power adaptor could be checked on and off load with a suitable voltmeter. I would be surprised to learn the supply is adequate
