Hi,...Klipsh Promedia 2.1 Computer Speakers...No longer any sound.Had these 2-3 yrs and worked fine.Have operated them connected to my desktop.On/off switch in back of Sub is hard to reach so have them plugged into a power strip and turn them on off via power strip main switch daily. Now green light on control speaker does not light up.When I click the switch off/on directly at the back of Sub I can hear an internal relay clicking on but still no sound and no green light on control speaker. If wiggle Sub connector can get popping sound from both speakers. If put either speaker to my ear can hear soft hissing noise. Also cones on both speakers flex when power switched on.Picked up a complete new set of these.Connected the 2 NEW satelites to the OLD Sub... no sound... no green light.Connected the OLD satelites to the NEW Sub... got perfect sound.Looks like problem inside the OLD Sub.Please help me figure out how to fix it.I was afraid to open the Sub up because I have no electrical repair knowledge. Thanks
I was face the same problem 2 year's ago. This problem occur when you move the speaker's here and there.at that time speaker's wire diconnected in inside...please check the whole wire by electricians for where exactly it is disconnected...

Hi Bill. You can buy a small multimedia speaker package for very little money these days. A small subwoofer and a pair of speakers (called a 2.1 system) will give pretty reasonable sound if you are on a budget
I presume you are playing a stereo cd. Plug some other device, like headphones in to see if the computer is putting out stereo. Use the same plug as the speaker system is plugged into.
I presume you have swapped the speakers to test them.
If the speakers work, and the headphones work, it's the amp.
these speakers are quite problematic aren't they!! From the information you have given there is either a problem with the mains trans former or the internal wiring. Neither of which are user serviceable.
hi, ok so your speakers are alright, but you dont hear any sound when connected to the computer. 1.this might be due to a driver problem. install the correct driver for your sound system and it will start working. to check if the driver are ok, right click on my computer icon on the desktop and select properties. now go to the hardware tab an and click device manager. a yellow mark will in the sound system category will tell of a device driver or conflict problem. 2. if there is no problem as mentioned above... you can try this go to control panel. click the sound icon and check i the device is muted and volume sliders are adjusted.
