Sansa clip sandisk 2gb won't charge. Thought it was low and after plugging it in to computer overnight it wasn't fully charged but worked the next morning but suddenly died. Now it won't charge. Sansa screen says its connected and the computer recognizes it, but the battery iconon the sansa keeps blinking 3/4 full.

I had the same problem this morning, albeit with my 8G Clip. Nothing worked -- the thing seemed dead as roadkill -- until I found a link about "forcing MSC mode." Basically, it told me to hold down the center button while plugging my Clip into my computer using my USB cable. Suddenly, boom! It's awake and alive and happy again. I'm unsure how that works, but that did it for me.

Yo !

My Sandisc 2G sansa clip was playing away happily then suddenly died.

Nothing I did was able to resurrect it and I thought it was burnt toast.

After reading the advise given about holding down the middle menu button before plugging in the usb cable, I tried doing so and - bata boom, bata bing the spirit returned. Like the previous writer said, I don't know how this worked but am very thankful it did.

Thanks for posting this. My sandisk clip thanks you too!

Sansa clip won't charge fully

If you have a phone charger with the same connector, plug in you Clip and leave it overnight. This will fully charge the battery. There is not enough power from the USB port.

My sanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player will not charge anymore. At least not on the computer I'm on. I have had it hooked up to charge for 2 days now and nothing. Why is this and how can I charge it?

This is direct from the sansa FAQs at http://www.sansa.com/support/sansa_clip/faqs 02. Why won’t my Sansa Clip charge when I connect it to my computer? USB Cable
Make sure that the USB cable is properly plugged in and use the original cable.

Computer in Hibernation mode
Make sure that the computer isn’t entering hibernate or sleep mode while the device is connected. The computer must be on in order to charge your player.

USB Port 2.0
Make sure your player is connected USB 2.0 port (1.1 occasionally causes charging problems).

USB Port location
Try plugging in different USB port (i.e. USB port in the back of the computer); sometimes the front USB ports have problem charging up the device.

Battery
Make sure the battery is fully charged. It takes approximately 3 hours to fully charge the battery.

Latest firmware
Make sure to update firmware by downloading and installing the Sansa Firmware Updater.

I hope this helps, and don't forget to rate the answer.

Sansa Clip Won't take a charge...

Are you sure the cable you are using provides both data and power to the device? Some cables are data only and will not charge the device despite appearing so.

Has it held a charge before? If this is a new device and has not yet ran down then charged fully again yet, then I would return it.

Can turn on

The Sansa can sometimes break overnight if you sleep on it. This happened to me. I don't think this is really a solution, but if you bought it at BEST BUY, they have a 2-year guarantee for a new one.

Sorry,
Big Tony
