Faxing on my Dell Pc

I use Windows XP with AOL 9.1 and my printer is Dell All-in-one 924. I have used the fax many times before, but now I get a pop-up saying"the fax printer cannot be accessed. make sure it is setup properly". I hve tried everything, but cannot fit it. Can you help.

I don't know how to update or reinstall drivers. Can you give instructions....
The only thing that might have caused this problem is that I installed "My Camera" to get pictures from my digital camera.

Probably related service has stopped or configuration has been changed. There are 2 method that you can try. First you can reinstall the driver and the applications that came with CD

Second Solution is using system restore.
To perform system restore you need to go to Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > System Restore.

On System Restore task set to computer earlier date that you remember most recent time that printer was working fine. Perform the system restore and Test the result.
If issue persists please inform

Good Luck

Hi,

Have you tried turning the printer off and on again/unplugging and repluggin the USB cable at both ends/try another USB port/restarting Windows/update or reinstall drivers. Do you remember if you installed something that could've caused this error?

How to enable ms fax services

  1. 1

Open the Start menu and select "Run", then type "appwiz.cpl" into the textbox and press "Enter". This will bring up the "Add/Remove Hardware" dialog box.

  2. 2

Click the "Add/Remove Windows Components" button in the left portion of the dialog box. It will take several seconds for the list of installed components to compile.

  3. 3

Click the check box next to the "Fax Services" entry and click "OK". This will start the install process for the Windows XP Fax Service. You will be prompted to insert your Windows XP setup disk at some point in this process. Do so, then press "OK" to continue and complete the installation.

Dell print font too small

In the software drivers for the printer you should be able to find a properties page and you can change resolution, font, and color properties.

On a windows xp computer click start, then printers and fax machines, then right click on your printer, then click properties.

Setup as fax

What you need to do to set up fax on most printers is use a standard phone cable. ( Cat 3 )

Plug one end intor the printer and the other end into a phone jack.

Then follow the instuctions on the manual to set up the fax number on the all in one printer.

With this printer you can also fax by using the microsoft software.

Here is the manual and it has step by step insturctions on how to set up faxing with software.

Dell 924 fax

Hi ,
The 924 printer which you have is not a standalone faxing printer, in order to send or receive the faxes the printer should be connected to the computer and the phoneline should be connected to the internal modem of the computer and you will be able to send the faxes by scanning the document from the printer, you will find a software called ALL IN ONE CENTER installed on your computer , open the All in one center and then click on FAX Now and you will be able to send a fax.
