Not detecting any discs, any ideas why? - Lite On LTR 52327S CD-RW Burner

If the CD/DVD drives behaves like this with other discs than the one you used to test it, then this is a typical sign that the motor driver chip on the CD/DVD drive's circuit board has failed. My recommendation is to purchase a new CD/DVD drive.

well try to purchase a dvd lens cleaner and insert it into the player for cleaning. After that process has been executed you can now insert your choice of disc for play..

When you say Drivers not working, can you please confirm if you are referring to the CD Drives ?

If yes you can first make sure that the Drives are detected in Windows Explorer.

Click on Start Then click on "Computer" or "My Computer"

See if the CD / DVD drive is detected

If the drive is detected in Explorer and not able to read the discs, try various discs of different brands.

If none of the disc is readable then the Drive is gone back and you will need to replace it.

In case the Drive is not detected in the Windows Explorer then you can check if the device is detected the Device Manager.

To open device manager Press the Windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc

Press Enter of click OK

It will open the device manager

look under CD/DVD drive if there is any yellow exclamation mark.

If you see the Drive listed with an Exclamation then follow the steps to delete lower filter and upper filter from the Windows registry Editor.

You need to check in the BIOS to see if the hard drive is being detected. Other than that, do you have like a flash disk or a media card attached to it when booting up?

Try a Laser Lens Cleaner disc.

It is a CD with brushes on the bottom to help clean the laser lens (used for reading discs).  It can be found cheapest in grocery stores, then office supply stores, and finally most expensive in electronics stores.  It will usually run you about five to ten dollars,and can be used multiple times on any disc drive.

could be just the mechanism that detects whether theres a disc in.
Have to open it up to find out tho, not a good idea unless you know what youre doing.
