Moniter lites up for about 1 sec, then goes out.

sound like pilot lite is not getting thermocouple hot.
check that pilot lite flame is extending out to and touching thermocouple. If not, clean out pilot lite orface and pilot lite gas feed pipe all the way back to the main gas valve if necessary.
If pilot lite flame is touching thermocouple, then replace thermocouple

The problem you are describing is in the inverter board that powers the back lights behind the screen. The cause is bad capacitors in most cases and develop a bulge at the top indicating it is open. Repairs can be attempted or the board replaced.

You can take it apart and inspect for bulging capacitors - the tops should be perfectly flat. Even a slight bulge at the top is an indication that the capacitor is bad.

Look for bad caps, shorted out transistors, cold solder joints. You will have to do in-depth troubleshooting and you need to narrow down the problem to find out if it is the lamp assemblies problem or the inverter/power supply problem.

your power supply needs to be repaired . you have bad capacitors. very comon problem

You have a bad DM Board. You need to replace it. Changing the capacitors will not cure the problem. Completely replace the entire board

Hi three things come to mind, you dropped it but usually they wont admit it (dont go mad they usually all break when you do) if it rattles the capacitor under the power switch just fell off (common you have to solder it back on) if not that you replaced the bottom screen and forgot to insulate the metal of the back of the screen against the circuit board and blew either the f1 or f2 fuses (Replace them if you did) last thing i wont go into if you havent pulled it apart if you have reply and i will tell you Good Luck

Switching DDR cards solved the problem. I was getting long beeps every 2 seconds. No short beeps. Just one long beep every 2 seconds. Thanks Josh Whitehead.

bad capacitors in the power circuit for the inverter power supply, replace these and everything should be alright it requires soldering skills or I can do it for a fee. It can also be transistors but much more likely it is capacitors.

Click start > right click on "My Computer" > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager button > Display adapters > Right click on your device and select uninstall and re boot your computer. Windows should pick up your adapter and re configure it automatically. This method should Fixya!
