On the Xerox XC1250 copier, the status code H3 indicates a high-temperature error in the fuser section. This error occurs when the fuser unit gets too hot, and the copier automatically shuts down to prevent damage.
To resolve the issue, try the following steps:

  1. Turn off the copier and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for about 20 minutes to allow the fuser unit to cool down.
  3. Check the fuser unit for any signs of damage, such as cracks or burns. Replace the fuser unit if necessary.
  4. Check the power supply and make sure it is delivering the correct voltage to the copier.
  5. Plug the copier back in and turn it on.
If the error code persists after trying the above steps, it may be best to contact a Xerox service technician for further assistance. They will have the necessary tools and expertise to diagnose and fix the issue.

Xerox XC and XD series copier H3 or H4 error code reset procedure

To reset the H3 or H4 condition on just about any Xerox XC or XD series copier press the following key's in sequence and as quickly as possible (with 4 seconds for the first 4 keys)
Press "C" then the far left key (exposure mode) then the "C" key then the far left again.
So in other words C, far left, C, far left
If done correctly the display should go blank.
Now key in 14 as if you were going to make 14 copies.
Now press the print button.
The machine should reset and the code should be gone.
9 times out of 10 this is a false code that pops up due to power surges or noise.
If the code comes back this means you have a heater lamp or thermal fuse (more common) failure in the fusing area and will need service.
This procedure will work on all Xerox XD and XC models.

I have a Xerox XD 100 work centre showing a H-4 code what is the problem?.

The H4 code on these machines is almost always a false code. Especially if you have had any power fluctuations or failures.

I have a H3 error code on a xerox workcentre Pro 215. What do I do to clear it?

This should correct it.

NOTE: Some Status codes will not clear even though the problem has been fixed. Status codes that will not clear must be manually reset using the 'Fault Reset 14 Procedure'.
  1. Locate the [C] (Clear) button on the Control Panel, at the far right.
  2. Locate the Image Quality button, below the Auto on the Control Panel, toward the left side.
  3. Press the buttons in the following sequence within 4 seconds. Press [C] (Clear), press [Image Quality], press [C] (Clear) again, press [Image Quality] again.
  4. The error code should disappear. If the Status code does not clear, repeat step 3 until the status code clears; but no more than five times.
  5. Use the [10] and [1] buttons to enter 14 on the Display Screen, as if you were to make 14 copies.
  6. Press the [Start] button. The machine should be ready to use.
  7. Make a copy, to check that the machine is working properly.

I have a Xerox XC1020 copier with a code H3. What does this mean?

Hi,

The H3 code is a fuser high temperature code.. First fix is to power down and let the machine cool down..

Failing that, I couldn't find a clearance method for that particular machine but most of the machines in this category had the same control panels for years so it might work.

This is for an XC811 machine, same family, so it might work. If any of the controls mentioned are not on your machine then you need to contact the helpdesk if it still exists or a local copier repair place who should know how to clear the codes.

"To enter diagnostics: Turn on the power and within 4 seconds press the following sequence: ‘Clear’, ‘Exposure Mode’, ‘Clear’, ‘Exposure Mode’ (Exposure Mode is the button on the far left). The console will go completely blank.

To enter a code: Select the first part of the code using the copy quantity buttons, followed by the ‘Print’ button, then the second part of the code followed by the ‘Print’ button again.

To exit diagnostics: Press ‘Clear’ repeatedly or turn the power off.

*To clear a fuser code:(14) Enter diagnostics, select ‘14’ followed by ‘Print’… exit diagnostics.

H3 stands for high temperature at the fuser."

If it persists then you have a fuser fault that will probably need to be replaced.
And as I said, this is not specifically for your machine but the clearance codes for Xerox machines tend to be similar.

Good Luck!!
