Most likely, your engine might not be producing the correct amount of voltage to your stereo system. It's most likely being over worked, or even your CD player needs to be cleaned. If it's the latter, try a quick burst of air duster.

SOURCE: JVC KD-G431 IN CAR CD PLAYER "000ZAAA" Error

I had the same problem. It started when I tried to play an MP3 track from a "Creative Zen Vision M" Media Player. The result was the same as you describe = Maddening. It was extremely annoying that the CD player did not work. I thought I had broken the equipment.

Then my wife read the product hand book , and noticed on page 2 http://jvcmobile.co.uk/documents/products/KD-G431%20Instructions.pdf it showed, where using a pen you can reset the equipment back to the original settings. I thought I might as well give a try. It worked = Fixed. Amazing. I was so relieved. Such an easy solution.

Give it a go. I reckon there is a good chance it will fix your problem, and you will also be very relieved. Just use a basic MP3 player in future. GOOD LUCK !!!

SOURCE: Unable to play MP3 CDs on JVC KD-G140

I had this same problem and realized after reading the manual that this model does not play mp3's. They use the same manual for the g140 and the g240 (the model which plays mp3s).

JVC car CD KD-R301does not retain time

sounds like you do not have the yellow wire connected to a constant power source. you need to connect the yellow wire to a source that is still hot when the key is switched off.

CD player heats up

The reason the CD it is gettng hot is because of the amplifier IC in the radio. The CD player is right in front of the amp IC and it is all in an enclosed area with little ventilation. They do get hot after a while.

It is not unusual for a CD to get hot after playing for a while.

The JVC stereos are known for having a bad spindle motor. That can cause the problem you are describing. A bad laser pick up can also cause the same thing.

There is no way of knowing just what the cause of your problem is without having it tested by a technician.

The laser pick up is more prone to failure from heat if it is getting weak.

The spindle motor is a little more common problem with the JVC car CD players.

But I have repaired both of those problems in JVC CD players many times.

I work at a JVC authorized service center, Most of the JVC CD players use the exact same CD mech, whether it is a cheap unit or a more exspensive one.

The only user action that you can do is to run a cleaning disc thru it for about 20 to 30 seconds. But that is not going to change your problem, you need to have it checked out at a service center, but if it is not under warranty it may not be worth getting fixed. The repair can run from $70 to $125 depending on the rates of the service center.

If you need any more help or questions answered, feel free to ask. And if this was helpful to you a good rating would really be appreciated.
