Center channel The center channel on my receiver suddenly stopped working. I tried a new wire and I tried a different speaker - definitely the center channel. Is there anything I can do to get this fixed? I could live without one of the rear surround channels, but the lack of center is very noticeable.

Turned out I had a cracked solder joint, all i had to do was touch it with an iron and it works again. Thanks for pointing me toward the center amp, I wasn't sure what i was looking at.

Just to rule out the easy solutions, have you made sure no settings changed? Make sure that you didn't accidentally turn off any surround sound settings or turn off the center channel in the MCACC setup or the like (I have the VSX-D814, so your receiver should have MCACC as well). If you're sure no settings changed and the center channel should be working according to the receiver, then it would appear that the center channel amp went out in the receiver. You can either get a Pioneer service center to take a look at it, or if you're comfortable with electronics, I believe you can get the parts straight from Pioneer.

One front channel in on my receiver is extremely loud compared to the other front, center and both rears. Adjusting the balance in setting has no noticable effect, it is that much louder. Have tried...

There's a component that's going out or it might be a cold solder connection on the channel. Inspect the board for the latter - use a non- conductive tool and poke around the channel in question to detect the cold connection. Use extreme caution when working with a live circuit - try not to get electrocuted.

Sony STR-DH510 Multi-channel AV receiver connected to cambridge soundworks ensemble IV w/ passive subwoofer: no sound from center channel during viewing, or during speaker level test- all other speakers...

The STR directs sound to the center as instructed by its speaker setup. You say the center does not work on calibration. Is it defined?

Prove another speaker does or does not work on the center output. Then we'll know if it's the receiver or the speaker ensemble that has the problem.

Have you checked the manual for this "
There is no sound, or only a very low-level sound is heard from the center/ surround. "?

Center channel stoped working on onkyo Dr-S2.2

Have you re-run the speaker definition and level steps? I can't find the manual. Perhaps you could flip a few pages in the Troubleshooting Section.

Center channel is not working.

try other surround mode and check speaker wiring or try a different speaker and if still the same that could be a bad center amplifier or surround board.

Center channel

Back to basic to advance:
Be sure you have all speakers connected correctly behind the receiver. If you center channel don't have any sound,it could be 7 different issues, but you could try to just hook up your center channel to either the right or the left speaker output to be sure the center channel speaker does work.
Check your the speaker wiring tip(if there is any),i will use just the speaker wire go straight to the center speaker output,go to the receiver to change it to pro-logic or dolby digital and of course you should put in a dvd in the dvd player to have a good quality movie to play the dialogue through the center channel for you test.
If you have tried the above step and still have no sound, you might consider hiring a troubleshooting master to take care of your issue.
