Same problem My camera has never been droped or abused in any way and not very long ago I noticed a hairline crack through the center of the door. It has progressed so rapidly that the dor is now cracked completly in 2 and the battery conduct plate is all that is holding it together. I love this camera but the door design is very faulty and the batteries force it to push out and crack. I havent been able to find anyone able to fix it. Now I'm stuck with a perfectly good camera that is useless just because it can't hold the batteries in. Thank you Kodak, you have been no help with this issue.

How long have you had the camera? If it's less than a year old, then it's under manufacturer's warranty and they need to take it back because there was no customer abuse involved to find it broken...
If it's more than a year old and you have no other warranties on it.. then I'm sorry to say that you might just need to try to fasten something yourself... keep in mind that the only function of that door is to hold the batteries in and to conduct electricity between the batteries... so if you put something there that is also conductive.. then it should be able to work fine.
Just be careful... electricity is sketchy to work with
