Comcast Cable Down All Day Every Day

I have Comcast Cable and Internet. Internet is painfully slow and Cable has been a problem for about 6 months. Cable started losing some channels from about 10am til 8pm about 6 months ago. Screen is either a mass of pixels or black screen with notification; will be available momentarily. That notification can display all day. It has continued to lose more channels and now I have NO reception during these hours. I have called Comcast many, many, many times. Service has been to my house over and over. Still No Joy!

Here's some things to check:
If there are signal splitters on your cable for TV, computer, more than one tv, the signal is getting divided ...every splitter will weaken the signal.
Check for unneeded splitters, also there are splitters that have a wider frequency capability.
Consider upgrading to 2hgz splitters if needed.
Also I think that the more homes that are on the cable tend to make the signal weaker...I don't comcast would fess up to this, but I'm pretty sure it's true.
Make sure all your cable connections are snug and you may want to double check for corrosion etc. on each connection.
I resorted to a signal amplifier on my home. We've got comcast for cable tv and internet, with multiple tv's and multiple computers.
The amplifier (motorola) boosted the signal for everything and we've got way less dropped, frozen pix, black screens and the internet is back up to speed.
Comcast even came out and put a signal strength meter on the in-line to the house and stated it's within their limits... Glad I put the amp on the line..
Give it a try.

You're paying monthly fees to COMCAST, correct?
So, telephone them, and get their "technical support" department to help you get it working.
Threaten to switch to some other Internet Service Provider.

When you are using a FullHD upscaling model. I still have to a HD setbox

the set top box is required by your cable company.

if you plug cable directly into the TV and run an auto program from the TV menu it will find most channels. BUT it will not locate them correctly.

for instance I have comcast. Channel 58 is FX but WITHOUT a cable box it shows up as the following on my HDtv's

sharp 52" shows up as channel 83.10
RCA 27" shows up as 86.6
RCA 32" shows up as 89.3

its a pain in the ****. We rent 2hd boxes from comcast at 7.99 a month and I refuse to pay them any more per month.

Contrary to what most cable providers say you WILL pick up most channels and in fact you will pick up some HD channels without the box but you have to look for them and they won't be on the same channel on every TV.

Lastly cable companies also remodulaet their signals every once and a while so there will come a time when you will have to do the whole setup, autoprogram (ch scan) again and yes the channels will once again move to another channel.

cable sucks Comcast REALLY sucks

Using home phone causes comcast wireless internet to disconnect

Wireless internet runs at 2.4ghz. Your portable phone is probably also 2.4ghz and is knocking out your internet connection when in use. Look for an 800mhz or 5.8ghz phone as a replacement.

Hi. just got cable internet (Comcast) and am

that's normal, wireless is normally between 1/4 and 1/2 the speed of your wired connection. normally the router gives priority to wired devices, but this should not cause you any further slow down unless you have wired devices plugged in at the same time you are using wireless. this can be changed from your router's admin page.
