Hi Gudrun - You didn't say what you previously tried. Find the TV setting Menu (usually on the remote) then locate "Channels" there should be an option to Scan for channels. Select scan & wait until it's complete. If you are using an antenna, make sure it's securely attached to the TV.
I have had to move my indoor antenna to get the same channels. I suspect the broadcast signal has changed direction.
SOURCE: can't get the channels to enter into the channel list
A lot of the " auto channel scan " etc. need a certain signal strength. you could have too meny tvs, equipment or anything connected to the "signal giver" that is sucking the signal strength. Not just turn off ALL connections to signal but disconnect the antenna 'input' to any equipment (sometimes people connect cable wires to radio receivers for stronger & better signals.)
You could have a open circuit to the input of the equipment in trouble. If you know how to get inside (with out killing yourself) connect an antenna directly to the end of the line of the intanna input INSIDE of the TV. if the signal comes in and the tv 'autoscans' and locks channels, then you have a open wire leading into the circuit.
p.s. BE CAREFUL!!, IF YOU don't know how or what you are doing.........DON'T DO DAT !! [that]
SOURCE: missing channels
You could have problem in SSB board the one that has tuners on it to replace ssb borad 253.00 plus labor Repair cost 445.00 use your external jacks for video see if you have the channels then. No more then 2 missing channels verses no channels and SSB cost,I would leave it alone. But if you need any of the boards to this set call 1-800-648-6657 UED

You need to replace the microprocessor. GoodLuck there is 52 pins to unsolder and resolder a new one. The price for the chip may bee about $35

do u have the user manual for the TV? if you do the solution will be in there, if not (I suspect you don't) please give the make an model so I can try to look this up, but off the top of head there is no way to "assign channels" to a paticular remote setting.
SOURCE: When setting up a new
you need to select cable from off your remote and run the auto scan.even if it says you does not need to run auto scan still run the auto scan.good luck.
