Hello Joe Williams, Just a casual look ... it would seem to be an
assembly for your FEATHERWEIGHT... A real model number would allow for more
than a guess... (what the heck):
eBay search seems to show a VERY REASONABLY
priced wheel assembly...
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=dirt+devil+featherweight+wheel&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=dirt+devil+wheel
Look VERY closely...
to see how to pry off the wheel cover (( and remember the screw-driver may
look like a "PHILLIPS" but is more likely
the "REED and PRINCE" (has 45-degree flukes
and a sharper, pointed end).
Makes life a lot EASIER:
CERTAINLY a worthy expense (valued tool).
Hope this helps...!

You might unhook the belt, if it still sounds real loud, then the motor is bad and will have to replaced.

Check that the filters are completely clear and not blocked - especially the top filter on top of the bin assembly. If its clogged completely brush it free of dirt and then reassemble. Make sure the inner cone filter and mesh filter is also completely clean. Then check the hose and main dust channel - something is clogged that makes this machine overheat and stop working - and often with this model (Hoover also make it in the UK under the Alyx name) its down to clogged filters or small clogs of dust in the dust channels.
Don't forget to rate, thanks.

SOURCE: No suction

take the cone filter out of the dirt cup and start it up if you have suction the filter is the problem,if still no suction the you have a clogged hose or a clogged intake hose which is at the bottom it will be a clear hose coming up the backside from the bottom

How do i clean canister of dirt devil featherlight bagless caniter vacuum

Hi there! To clean the canister or dirt cup, first remove the dirt cup from the vacuum. Twist off the dirt cup lid. Remove the pleated filter and empty the dirt cup. Tap the filter against the trash can until the dirt stops falling. If the filter is really dirty it may need to be replaced. The filter should be replaced every 6 months. I have included a link where you may go to purchase a replacement filter if needed.

Thanks! Hope this helps!

When i removed the bottom panel to clean out the roller brush, the front wheels fell off. I can't figure out how to put them back on!

I( think Dirt devil wheels are held on by a little clip, kind of round ish. Check the other wheel and see if it has that kind of set up. Chris

Brush bar can't spin

Hi There,

Actually I just answered a question almost identical to yours! The belt on his model continiously snapped also.

I walked him through how to check the problem, and he was able to get his vacuum fixed. It really sounds to me like your brush roller has gone bad as well.

Also here, another link to the exact roller brush that your model take on our website if you haven't already purchased one.

Operating Question

There isn't one. The wand is always active, because it is the only air inlet on that machine. When it's plugged into the side of the machine, it's pulling dirt from the nozzle. When you pull it out, it just functions as hose attachment.
