Upright dirtdevil roller jammed - how to remove square endcaps for cleaning

The pyramidal shaped end caps are just friction fit onto a shaft that runs through the brush roll. The shaft has serrations on both ends. Grab both pyramidal shaped end caps a wiggle them along with outward pressure. Once one is off, tap the shaft with hammer and the other end will come out too. There are bearing cups that will also come out. The bearings come out too with a 9mm socket tapping from the inside of the bearing cup. Grab the SMALLEST straight slot from an eye glass repair kit. The rubber seals are removable on the bearings. Remove them and wash clean. Or grab the wife's ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. Once all clean, align the end caps by assembling and pressing together while it is laying flat on the table. A tap from a hammer will more than likely be need for everything to seat together. Danny

How to fix wheels that raise and lower the beater bar

Hello! The M085845 has an automatic height adjustment that cannot be manually changed. There is a roller lifter assembly that helps to raise and lower the nozzle depending on whether the vacuum is in the upright or reclined position. You do not have to make any adjustments to the vacuum when going from carpet to hard floors. The brushes will continue to spin at all times when the vacuum is in use. Hope this helps!

Where is the reset button on the dirt devil featherlite

Hello! There is no reset button on the vacuum. It is equipped with a thermal protector sensor that will automatically shut the vacuum down when it is overheated. A vacuum usually overheats if there is a clog or if the filter needs to be cleaned or replaced. To check for a clog twist the lower hose off where it connects to the brushes. Use a wooden spoon or something similar to break up and remove any clogs in the lower hose. Remove the filter from the dirt cup. Tap the filter firmly against the trash can until debris stops falling. If the filter is really dirty it may need to be replaced. I have included a link that you may follow to purchase a replacement filter if needed. Your vacuum will turn back on after it cools down, this can take up to an hour. Hope this was helpful! Do my Dirt Devil have a restart button it just stop running

Hi! No the vacuum doesn't have a restart button, but it does have a thermal protector that will shut the vacuum down when it is overheated. If your dirt cup was too full this will activate the thermal protector sensor. Clogs and dirty filters can cause this as well. We recommend emptying the dirt cup, tapping out the filter and checking the hose for clogs. The vacuum will come back on usually within 45 minutes to an hour. Hope this helps.
