SOURCE: Maytag Bravos dryer heats but does not blow air.

Since you did not provide a model number I picked a similar model for reference using this model number: MDE5721TQO (there are at least 40 different model numbers but the blowers are all the same) You blower is driven directly by the motor so unless the blower itself has come apart or the drive spline in the blower has failed in some way you more than likely have a major build up of lint in your dryer.

You can look here to see the blower location http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5133558&diagram_id=1301439#d1301439

You can turn the motor by hand and see if the blower is turning by losening the housing screws for the blower while using a flashlight. If the blower is turning then you need to find out where the blockage of lint has built up and remove it. I would startt around the lint filter. NOTE The drum will also turn.if you rotate the motor pulley. Just make sure the unit is unplugged while you attempt this. If you do locate the blockage I have found that a well bent into a U shaped METAL coat hanger works well. Do NOT poke any sharp objects into the air ducting areas of your dryer while trying to find any blockages and avoid the heating element area with anything metal or sharp. A vacuum crevice tool works great during this task. Good luck and I do hope you are able to locate the problem based on the information here.

SOURCE: maytag bravos dryer belt needs to be replaced

Check in the back and see if the belt has a wide span on it. If it does, it doesn't only go around the fan pulley but also the drum (Which is usually the case). THis being the case you need to look for and screws you can find on the dryer outer casing because you will need to remove the outer casing to get to the drum. If you look for screw on the upper part just inside the door many times the upper deck is on hinges and will tilt backward so you can view the top of the drum with the belt on it. Remember how it came apart; it goes back together in reverse manner. Once you usually find the belt tension pulley through the back of the dryer compartment, let the tension off the pulley and slide the belt off of it. Once you get the belt off put it back on just like the old one.

SOURCE: Maytag Bravos MED6400TB0, Air blows out duct, heating element hot, but clothes not drying. When I open the dryer door there is no hot air that comes out, but the heating element is hot.

You will need to check all the duct work for lint buildup. This is the reason clothes won't dry or take a few cycles to dry.

Maytag Bravos MEDB835DC4. I replaced heating element and thermostat, also the High Limit. Removed all connections without marking and thought I would be right back at it but has been a while.

Question moved from Cars and Trucks to Maytag Bravos.

Sometimes you will find a circuit diagram in a plastic bag hidden in the machine somewhere.. They are not normally available online.

The video should show you the replacement of all your parts. Pause to see the wiring.

MayTag Bravos XL-panel does not light up. But the drum light does come on when door opened. Could this be a failed heater element? I have replaced this before.

I have a maytag bravos model # medb850wq that I want to check the heating element. How do I get to it?

Hi,
To check the heat element you will need to remove the top then front console then door (in that order).
Then it will be on the bottom right corner where you will be able to see the connections for the element.
DON'T forget to unplug the machine.

My Maytag Bravos XL dryer will start but not heat at times. I was going to take the unit apart to inspect the heating element and the rest of the unit. I had unplugged the unit and removed the dryer v

Im assuming you have a steam dry option? If this is the case there are fuses attached to this system to avoid injury and bad this from happening. These fuses blow a lot. If you have a ohms meter, check the fuses on the steam dry unit for ohms. I bet one of them is blown and that is the reason your not getting heat during this cycle.

Replacing pulley on Blower Housing

If there is no access panel on lower right side behind machine, you will have to lift the top of the machine from the front and remove the front panel to access the inside of the machine. While there it would be a good idea to check out the drum rollers if present and drum glides for wear. Also make sure that the blower wheel is not loose on the motor shaft. All of these will cause noise issues and are common.

Matag dryer not heating

Here is a link to maytag dryer repairs http://apcoappliancerepair.wordpress.com/?s=maytag+dryer . The most common problem is the thermal fuse. My question is. Does the heating element start to light. If not...... and you have changed the ignitor and thermal fuse. Then check the flame sensor to see if there is continuity threw it. Power to the gas coils and ignitor runs threw the flame sensor. CLICK HERE to see a flame sensor on a GE dryer. They are the same on most units but Maytag will be on the opposite side of burner chamber.

Thermal limiter maytag bravos dryer

a thermal limiter is a safety switch designed to keep a dryer from overheating, by either shutting off the heating element or the dryer itself if activated. They don't normally need replacing (unless you know your dryer overheated and activated it). If you have no heat in your dryer, chances are you have a bad heating element--the most common dryer problem
