SOURCE: how to remove the front panel of a maytag epic z dryer
If your unit is not drying well or slow dry it is being caused by poor external venting rather than internally. first make sure you are not crushing the vent hose behind unit then next clean venting in wall and make sure outside flaps are opening and closing properly before opening up dryer. Easy way to tell if it the machine or venting is to take vent hose off and connect a pair of sheer pantyhose to exhaust port on back of dryer and run a few loads if all works well your issue is in the wall not the machine

Removal of the front panel requires the removal of the top cover and the console. Disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.
Remove the 2 screws attaching the top cover to the rear of the dryer then slide it rearward to clear the screw head from the top cover flange and lift the cover off the dryer cabinet.
Remove the screws securing the heater PCB board and disconnect the black and white wiring harness connectors from the board.
Remove the four screws attaching the console to the washer cabinet and rotate the console down to remove it from the dryer.
Remove the four screws attaching the top of the front panel to the cabinet and the two screws at the bottom of the door opening.
Pull the front panel forward and disconnect the interior light wiring harness then lift the front panel off the tabs across the bottom and move it away from the dryer.
Reinstall the front panel, the console, and the top cover in reverse of the removal steps.

To access these parts you first need to first lift the top up. This is done by pressing the clips inward. These are located on the left and right side in between the top and front on the dryer. When this is done the top will left up and backwards. Next, on the upper inside there are two screws, usually 5/16" bolts, that will need to removed to take the front off. Now you'll will access to the inside of the dryer. The belt will have to be removed to to take the drum out to test the rollers.
