If there is a tv button on the remote, try pressing that..
Chances are its damaged and you might need to order a new one from Hitachi or possibly use a universal.. With remotes there really isnt much you can do when they stop functioning.
Hi, It sounds either volume down button is bad that turns volume down on its own or system control chip got defective and decreasing volume level. Press volume down button on tv front and check is it working properly. Let me know to find out further info to solve the issue. Thanks.
1.- Turn off your TV 2.- On the remote control, set the VCR/TV slide switch to TV position. 3.- While holding in SP/EP button, press the code button listed below that corresponds to the brand of your TV 4.- Press TV POWER on the remote control. Once your TV has turned on, your remote is set up to operate your brand
TV.

I finnaly found my VCR Manual, and I'm glad to share this info with you, because I was looking for the manual all
over the web and FOUND NOTHING!. Bye!
plug your headphones in and then mute the television using the remote.
While the TV is muted you can still use the volume up and down controls to adjust the volume through the headphones. I find that having the volume at 60-75% is more than loud enough on the headphones.
Just be careful when you unplug the headphones and take the TV off of mute, if your volume levels are still turned up you will be in for a jolt :)
User problem!! The main TV volume and the headphone volume work independently so you can have the TV volume set at zero and use the headphone volume. However I suggest getting a pair of headphones with it's own volume control.
try the volume if this works then press SELECT to save the code. If not then press TV again then the volume. repeat this step until the volume works then press the SELECT button to save the code.
If your remote transmitter is multifunction, such sa TV; DVD; and VCR operative; You may be in the wrong mode. Press the TV function first and then try to change the volume. If you still have problems, the remote may be defective.
