I have a Marantz sr 870 that was working fine when last used. It has been sitting a few years. I now have no output to the speakers or to the headphones. Mute is not on. Please help?

There is a repair manual http://www.manualsparadise.com/service-repair-manuals/Marantz/SR870/RWSPFM-63663893-1

I cannot speak to the company that sells its reputation. The issue is most likely due to the protection circuit in the final audio section. Most use a relay to disconnect the speakers in the event of an overcurrent condition. The relay can fail for a number of reasons.

I'm having a problem with sound from a Marantz SR48 MKII. I have a pair of Klipsch monitors connected to the "system 1" outputs on the Marantz and a Polk PSW100 connected to the "system...

I'd say you DO need to evaluate how the PSW is attached. I can't find the specific manual for it but the prescribed way for most subs that accept speaker level inputs (and HAVE speaker level output terminals) is run one pair of speaker outputs from the receiver to the sub and daisy-chain the Klipsh speakers from the sub.

Something is tripping the safety in the unit.
I'd be checking the output transistors or hybrid chip, and take a good look at the electrolytic capacitors and make sure none of them are leaking or bulging at the top.
Look for signs of heat wear on resistors especially near the output stages.
You may simply have to take it in for service if you aren't electronics savvy.

There is no fuses for the speakers. Check setup. If the receiver has 7.1 channel input try to connect a source there so you can check output (amp) section and the speakers.

Marantz sr8001: standby light blinks rapidly,

Hello there Ed.

For anyone that has ever had such an issue with a MARANTZ SR series (6001. 7001. 7002. 8001...etc...) issue a question and I do HAVE the answer.

I could be just anything, or just the low quality binding posts used by MARANTZ for that.

Please describe to me in details how you've connected your speaker wires at the back, and give me description when and how did this problem came up.

Kind regards

Marantz SR-940

Just finish repairing Marantz SR 940 with no sound output. Problem was a clamped speakers relay located behind the speakers lugs (red and black post connectors). To reach the relays you must remove the little circuit board behind those colored connectors et unsolder the posts. There is 2 relays, one for A set and one for B set of speakers. Very EASY when you know the solution!!

Marantz SR 7200

Most often it is due to improper speaker loading. In other words, it needs to have from 4 to 8 ohms speaker load and you wired your speakers in parallel when they should have been wired in series. What would have been an 8 ohm speaker load in series, turns into a 2 ohm load when in parallel. And with dual voice coil speakers you just compound the problem. And don't even get me started on bridged outputs.
Anyway that is what usually causes an amp to fry. Good luck.

Marantz SR7500 Home receiver, Digital CD will not play

Verify that the digital output is enabled. This is a switchable output. A brown-out or other power isseu may have shut it down.
