Red polarizing effect on the picture. Sometime when I turn it on the whole screen is red with the Seiki logo in front. the logo is not affected.

The polarizing is intermittent. It's always affecting the red color. I was told if the menu is not affected it isn't a T-Con board but possibly the main board.

Testimonial: "I appreciate all the comments. I called Seiki and they had me unplug and reset the tv. That seemed to work. Don't know why it went that way in the first place. Nothing was added or changed when it started happening. Anyway thanks for the time and attention. Good luck with your devices. Cheers"

Check the power supply module for bad DC filter caps first, then check the backlight inverter board for shorts.

Hello.
Normally T-Con board have nothing to do with powering up of TV. It's only affecting image when TV is on. So we can discard T-Con as a suspect for now.
Remove "new" main board and install the old one. If TV powering up and back light comes on - you've purchased defective Main Board and you should return it for exchange or refund. It happens all the time, boards that they sell most of the time are refurbished and sometime nothing was done and they send defective board to the other customer by error.
In case that TV is not powering up even with the old main board - look for something that you have done during replacement (like forgotten or overlooked connection, broken/bended pins etc.).
Good luck!
Russ.

This is not an issue with the main board . Its a clear case of faulty LCD controller board or the LCD panel itself is faulty(most likely). I suppose the sound is not affected?

SOURCE: My flat screen TV has a thin red line from top to

That can be caused by one of the circuit boards that drive the panel but can also be a problem with the panel itself. You would need a technician to check it as there is no easy way you could do it yourself. This type of problem can stay as it is without getting worse for years so if it's not bothering you it might be best just to leave it as it is.

Seiki SE42FYT turns off after logo appears across screen

Hi,

Please disconnect all accessories. Then turn on your tv again. Please make sure that neither the power button on the tv or that on your remote is stuck because this could lead to the issues that you've mentioned. Otherwise, you'd need to factory reset your tv.

Thank you.

The problem is in the R G B circuit. Thr Red gun circuit is totally on!
If this is transistor driven circuit replace the transistor. The component

Thin red horizontal lines across screen

replace the focus block or try to adjust the screen control on the focus block for red only. this will affect the white balance of the set so adjust it carefully. the focus block is located on the front inside the set. remove the speaker cover then the 4 screws on the front plate. the focus block is 3" x 2" black box with 6 adjustment posts three for focus and three for screen. adjust only the affected screen (R).
