Could be the cartridge needs cleaning or priming or it is short of ink.

Check in the printer menu for maintenance functions and then run the programme(s). If not successful try replacing or refilling the cartridge.

in when you click on the print botton a dialogue box opens which shows the print properties. in that you have to select the grey scale then only it prints in black and white

Probably your printer is polluted with toner powder. Open it and clean all parts with a vacuum cleaner. (don't forget to disconnect power in advance). You mail also use toilet paper to clean rolls. Normally this problem can be fully resolved by cleaning the printer.
