SOURCE: no image through view finder or lcd monitor

JVC has acknowledged a fault on their side that will cause certain models to display the "lens cap" error, and they offer free repairs, unfortunately your model isn't on the list. You still might get some consideration, since there are plenty of models from the GR-D series listed. Here's a link to the JVC site : http://www.jvc.com/support/notification/index.jsp?pageID=2 You're not alone though, it's a very common problem also with models that are not listed by JVC. I only heard of complaints by people that JVC refused to help, but it won't hurt trying, maybe they'll give in to public pressure eventually. Good luck

The little supersonic TV I uses a 13in and I basically only use it for my camera monitoring. I don't know if my family press the wrong button on the remote control which is only used to turn the monitor...

Please read all of this before you do anything since my last suggestion may be the place to start.

This means it "needs" to do this in order to find the OTA (over the air) TV channels which have recently changed. Go through the menu system & possibly Tools to find the auto channel scan and let it do that.

I don't know why it would ask you to do this unless you also have the TV attached to the Internet, then it would know it needs this new channel scan, but I have four TVs in the house and none of them told me they needed a new scan. I knew this because I keep track of what is going on with OTA TV channels.

So, let's assume you've done the scan again, you also say you don't know how to get it back to monitoring your camera.

Once the channel scan is done it may be happy and simply find your camera again. If not, your camera probably came with instructions on how to set it up in the first place, find those and find how how to attach it to the TV again.

If you've lost those instructions look up the make & model of the camera on the Internet to see if you can now download the pdf version of the user's manual and/or setup instructions.

LAST: You may want to try this first: Most remotes have a button called "Input" or "Source" look for that button. With the TV on & pointing it towards the TV press the remote "Source" button, look at all the input sources it has & go through them one at a time and then wait for something or nothing to come up. One of these sources may be your camera.

My monitor broke and uniden says cannot buy replacement or repair. Is there a way to connect my 4 cameras to another monitor or is there software so I can connect to laptop?

You would probably be best off buying another monitor from Uniden. The system is a proprietary system made to control the operation. Uniden is the only one that can answer if there program you can use on a laptop.

I installed ip camera on my android phone and then installed ip camera adapter on computer but when i restarted skype and called someone it suddenly close

Thanks for the clarification crazyboy.

From what I have read, this is a known issue for the windows software you installed.

Skype says to remove that software from your computer via control panel, and then to install software called "ManyCam".

Then you need to point your sources to ManyCam in the Skype client.

The walkthrough, the ManyCam download link, and the place where I got this information are listed here:

http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-desktop-client/skype-crashes-when-viewing-viedo-settings/td-p/1427523

And this is the extracted ManyCam link for you: http://download2.manycam.com/ManyCamStandaloneSetup.exe

And here is a YouTube walkthrough if you would like to still try and use that software you already have installed:

I have a Bunker Hill four camera home surveillance system, but I cant figure out how to get it to work through my internet so I can view video on my Android phone when I am away.

Determine your router's internet ip address and the port that your security system is set to communicate with.

Your Bunker Hill system should have an app for the Android phone that you can download. Download this app to your iPhone, then use your internet ip address and designated port address to set it up.

This information is general in nature, but it pretty much applies to 90% of the security systems that provide remote access.

I have just installed my Uniden UDW20553 Video Surveillance System. I was under the impression that I would have remote access to view my cameras from anywhere in the world on my laptop. Have looked high...

The only solution I have found is using Remote Desktop Connection and running the Uniden application. On my Iphone I found that using Pocket Cloud Remote Desktop (RDP Itunes download application) works best. You must also download a free application named "Pocket Cloud Companion" on the PC your Uniden software is running. Pocket Cloud Companion must be running for connection to made through 3G, Edge or Wifi networks. Also, you have to configure your remote connections by using your PC's IP address rather then the name of your pc, particularly if making connection on 3G network.

My webcam

Can be several reasons
1) Lack of resources - internet connection etc
2) Check settings

INTERNET CONNECTION
Webcam connected
Open messenger - on top toolbar. Left click ( > ) Messenger > Preferences > Connection - Select 'no proxies' or 'connect direct to the internet' depending on the version of messenger you have
make sure your internet connection and country are correct in the lower two boxes > Apply > OK

TESTING
> Messenger > My webcam - the warning panel will launch, click 'OK' and your webcam will start.

DEFAULT
With webcam still running > Messenger > Preferences > Webcam > Camera Source - set your webcam as default using dropbox. > Camera Settings - adjust settings to suit. > Apply > OK
Take a note of any additional software, if you have multiple choice for Camera Source, you may wish to uninstall any redundant webcam software later to prevent conflicts

The person viewing the webcam should make the INTERNET CONNECTION as above ( less webcam connected )

Sometimes it takes a bit of juggling and I have been running on "connect via proxy" for 3 days to enable my webcam to show as 'available'
