Internet Video Security Camera

I can connect to the remote camera server, view all command icons, but I get a blue box instead where the live cameras views should be appearing. Is this a monitor problem? I called my internet provider to verify all ports where open. I've tried firewall settings.

We can only access the camera via wifi. Not able to use or view via cellular connections. Contacted Swann support 3x, they cannot figure it out. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

I assume you have a App on your phone? To use a Cellular connection you must add :80 (which means Port 80), to the end of the Server Name. Check your Tablet or Phone that is connecting via WiFi for the Server Name and enter it into the phone. You may need to use a DDNS Domain usually when accessing remotely such as a computer over the internet.

I have a sentient cctv dvr from Maplin I can view it on my phone at home which is fine I wanted to know if I can view camera footage when I'm not at home etc. at work

Yes you can definitely view your CCTV footage on your mobile phone at your work via internet. Sentient CCTV DVR basically is a night vision camera. You must know the IP of the camera and IP Video server. Connecting your phone to CCTV camera via the protocol you can view the CCTV footage's in your phone. Night vision cameras are used for surveillance purpose. I would prefer cctv camera with ir illuminator for good image quality in the night time that will clear footage quality in my phone.
Recently many new applications have also being launched by security cameras with a view to solve problem you mentioned.

I want to configur canon A490 power shoot digital camera as web cam of my desktop pc.Plz provide me adiquqte information for solve it out?

The Remote Capture software included on the Canon Digital Camera Solutions Disk provides the capability to take and store images remotely using your computer via the USB connection for many PowerShot cameras. This is not the same as providing real-time, live video feed to a web server. Apparently some people have been successful in using their Canon digital camera as a webcam utilizing the Audio/Video Out port (if your camera is so equipped). Canon does not recommend using your camera in this manner

What should the securicam setting be, to view remotely for the dcs 5220 wireless camera

Wireless camera security systems are available at many stores such as Wal-mart, Fry's and Best Buymag-glass_10x10.gif. These systems can be used to monitor your home and possessions while away. This article will show how to set up such a system.
  1. Step 1 Decide what you want to see on your security system. Front doors, back doors and driveways are popular choices. Other choices may include living rooms, hallways and garages.
  2. Step 2 Wireless cameras are not completely wireless. They still need a wire for power. Most systems come with plug in adapter to power each camera. Most power wires are 4 to 6 feet long. The location of your cameras should be close to power outlets. Professional installers may run electrical wire inside walls and conceal the power outlets and adapters in junction boxes.
  3. Step 3 Each camera will need to be set to its own channel. Common channels for such systems are labeled A through D or 1 through 4. Drill holes into walls and mount the cameras with screws.
  4. Step 4 The wireless camera receiver will be positioned next to the television. Connect the receiver to the television using a cable that has a yellow, red and white connector on each end. Some systems may have an "S-video" connector and cable to connect it to the television. The receiver will also be powered by a plug in wall adapter. Connect it to the receiver and plug it into the wall.
  5. Step 5 Set the receiver to channel A or 1 and turn on the television. The channel of the television may need to be set to Game, Video In or some other name designating the input jacks used. Consult your television for more information.
  6. Step 6 The view from the camera that is set to channel A or 1 should be visible on the TV screen. Tilt the camera if needed to get the view you desire. Set the receiver to channel B or 2 and repeat with the camera that is set to B or 2. Repeat with the remaining 2 cameras.
  7. Step 7 More advanced users may connect the receiver to a VCR, DVR or computer. Digital video capture devices can be used to connect the receiver to the computer. Using video capture software, the video from the cameras can be broadcast on the internet using software such as Yawcam or WebcamXP. HomeCamera.com can also be used to monitor your cameras on the internet.
